The Punjabi comedy drama movie, Sargi (2017) was directed by Neeru Bajwa which starred Rubina Bajwa, Jassi Gill and Babbal Rai in the leading roles. Other siblings of Neeru Bajwa and Rubina Bajwa include Sabrina Bajwa and Sohail Bajwa.

Monica Gill: American model, actress, Miss India Worldwide (2014) and Miss India USA (2013), Monica Gill has received a lot of critical acclaim for her movies like Ambarsariya (2016), Sardaarji (2016), Sat Shri Akaal England (2017) and Paltan (2018) to name a few. Gill has never shied away from expressing her love and sharing pictures with her brother, Jasneil Gill. “So my brother Jasneil is an absolute ANGEL! I love how dutiful is towards all his responsibilities! I admire him for his work ethic! Gippy Grewal: The man behind an array of Punjabi movies and music tracks, Gippy Grewal is a name synonymous with reverberated zeal. Grewal staunchly believes in the age-old saying that ‘one rises by rising others’. He is blessed with an elder brother, Sippy Grewal who is a Punjabi film producer known for producing films like Carry on Jatta (2012) under his Australian-based banner Sippy Grewal Productions.

Gurpreet Ghuggi: One of the most-loved comedy actors of the Punjabi film industry, Gurpreet Ghuggi is blessed with two brothers. Hailing his roots from Gurdaspur, his elder brother, Gurjasbir Singh, works as the assistant commandant in Railway protection force, and his younger brother, Gurbir Singh, is inspector police.

Sargun Mehta: Indian actress, model and television host, Sargun Mehta has received three PTC Punjabi Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards Punjabi for her indispensable contribution to the Punjabi film industry. Hailing her roots from Chandigarh, the happy-go-lucky Sargun Mehta is blessed with a younger brother, Pulkit Mehta. Neeru Bajwa: The Canadian-born Indian actress, director and producer Neeru Bajwa has carved a niche in the Punjabi film industry with her proficient acting skills and talent. However, it was only after years of hard work and perseverance that she could reach the zenith of success. Bajwa left her schooling midway to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. She then came to India to make her dream true and as destiny would have it – her dreams soon turned into a reality!

As the world is facing grim times due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the release date of Ammy Virk’s first Bollywood movie, 83 has been postponed.

Ammy took to Instagram to announce the same.

Ranveer Singh who is the main lead of the movie, playing the character of cricketer Kapil Dev, wrote on his instagram, “83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care. We shall be back soon!”

83 was set to release on April 10 and is among one of the most awaited movies of 2020. The makers, however, have decided to shift the film’s release date after the novel coronavirus spread in the country.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has affected the entertainment industry worldwide. In Punjabi film industry, the cinema halls were shut just a day after the release of Amrinder Gill’s ‘Chal Mera Putt 2’ while, Rana Ranbir’s ‘Posti’ which was supposed to get released on 20th March, has also been postponed. 

The makers are yet to announce the new release date of Posti. 

In Hindi Film industry, the release dates of Sooryavanshi and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar – were postponed.

The pandemic has also affected the box office collection of Irrfan’s Angrezi Medium and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 3.

This Friday’s release, Chal Mera Putt 2 starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal creates history by marking the highest Punjabi film opening in Australia and New Zealand. 

Punjabi film industry fans in Australia and New Zealand have beckoned Chal Mera Putt 2 with open arms as the movie becomes the highest opening movie in the country. With Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal in the lead roles, Chal Mera Putt 2 hails its underlying storyline from the first part of the sequel.

Somewhat similar to Chal Mera Putt (2019), this movie narrates tale of a group of immigrants who try to earn a living in a foreign land.

From capturing their struggles of earning their daily bread to keeping a roof over their heads, these immigrants come across insurmountable challenges but eventually pave their way to emerge victorious through the odds. However, this time, the movie has reverberated comedy, drama and romance which is being well-appreciated by the audience.

The new entrant in the gang, Garry Sandhu is also being cherished for his entertaining role. Needless to say, it is certainly due to the engaging content and high entertainment factor of Chal Mera Putt 2 that has led the movie to create history in New Zealand on the first day of its release.

According to reports, Chal Mera Putt 2 has been the Biggest Ever Punjabi Opener in Australia in the recent years.

Adhering to the government’s advice to people of refraining themselves from visiting crowded places like cinema halls and other such events, Humble Motion Pictures’ owner Gippy Grewal has decided to postpone the release of his next Punjabi movie – Posti. 

Posti is a Rana Ranbir directorial which was supposed to get released on next Friday i.e. 20th March. However, now its release has been delayed. Further, no information about its new release date has been given by the makers yet. 

A film made on the issue of drug addiction in Punjab, Posti stars Surillie Gautam and Babbal Rai in the lead roles along with Rana Ranbir himself and noted actor Prince Kanwaljit. 

Posti’s trailer is being really loved by the audience on Youtube and the news of the postponement of its release date would perhaps disappoint the fans a bit, but taking in view of the larger interest of the people, we believe such step was indeed needed to be taken.

The wait for the title track of Chal Mera Putt 2 recently got over as makers of the movie released it a few hours ago on the official YouTube channel of Rhythm Boyz.

The perfect amalgamation of groovy beats and an entertaining video, the official title track of Chal Mera Putt 2 has taken the audience expectation a notch higher for the movie which releases today.

Sung by Amrinder Gill and Gurshabad, the lyrics of the title track have been penned by Satta Vairowalia.

The music has been given by Dr Zeus Mix and the master has been done by Sameer Charegaonkar. Whereas, Bhindder Burj is the Video Director of the title track.

Renowned Bollywood actor Aamir Khan who is these days working for his upcoming Hindi movie, Lal Singh Chadha, posed adorably with Punjab’s singer/actor/producer Gippy Grewal’s newly born son, Gurbaz Grewal. 

Sharing the pictures on his social media accounts, Gippy wrote:

Earlier Gippy Grewal shared his own picture also with Aamir Khan on the sets of Lal Singh Chadha, which once again spoke volumes about the wonderful camaraderie that Gippy shares with Aamir. 

Both Gippy Grewal and Aamir Khan are shooting for their respective films in Punjab these days. While Aamir is still working for Lal Singh Chadha in Punjab, Gippy has begun the shoot for his upcoming Punjabi movie, Maa in which he will be seen along with actors like Divya Dutta and Raghveer Boli. 

It may be noted that Lal Singh Chadha is an official remake of Hollywood movie, Forrest Gump which was an Oscar Award winning film that starred the famous American actor Tom Hans. 

Lal Singh Chadha will release on Christmas this year and Kareena Kapoor Khan will be the playing the role of the female lead in the film. 

Meanwhile, Gippy Grewal starrer Maa will be releasing on May 8.
