Of late, Punjabi cinema’s focus has been on period dramas and family comedies and the action-thriller genre had been relatively untouched! But Bally Singh Kakar latest offing, IK SANDHU HUNDA SI, has not just touched this genre but has also managed to deliver full-on entertainment with the same.

While the film’s story traces the incredible fight to combat corruption in educational institutes, the director Rakesh Mehta has made sure that Ik Sandhu Hunda Si serves a complete cinematic experience to the audience, without compromising on the entertainment quotient a bit.

So does IK Sandhu Hunda Si (ISHS) manage to thrill the audiences? Let’s analyse further.

Jass Grewal’s story is excellent and also makes a nice comment on the present-day scenario in North India’s student politics, the relationships brewing within and the friendships. But the way the director has added the required thrill and entertainment to keep the audience hooked till the very end is applause-worthy.

A tight screenplay combined with acidic dialogues work very well too. Also there are sub plots in the film – all of which is brought together nicely by the makers.

As for the performances, it won’t be an exaggeration to say that Ik Sandhu Hunda Si belongs to Gippy Grewal. Gippy, yet again delivers a terrific performance as the lead character – Sandhu. It’s great to see how he understands his part so well.

He is tough but also has a highly emotional and sensitive side. Gippy also gets the action scenes right. Whether it’s the pain, the innocence of love or the fierce determination, the fans of Gippy Grewal shall see a new side of the actor through ISHS.

Even the characters of Babbal Rai and Roshan Prince look very organic and nothing seems forced. Pawan Malhotra and Kala rock the show and how! Vikramjeet Virk (Kala ) impresses from the first scene itself. Throughout the film, he gets the menacing bit perfectly.

Neha Sharma is endearing and decent considering it’s her first Punjabi film while the rest of the cast fits their roles perfectly.

One of the strong points of Ik Sandhu Hunda Si is its exhilarating background score and theme-based songs.

On the whole, Ik Sandhu Hunda Si is a gripping thriller that boasts of an exciting script and bravura performances by Gippy Grewal and the rest of the cast.

Ik Sandhu Hunda Si will not just make you reminisce your college days but will also talk about the impact of youth in making this world a better place to live in.

Punjabi movie Chal Mera Putt released in 2019 was a massive blockbuster. One of the reasons behind it being so successful, especially in overseas, was its amazing starcast that included actors from not just Indian Punjab but Pakistan as well. 

Now the big news that has come our way today is that the sequel of Chal Mera Putt, which is Chal Mera Putt 2 and releases on 13th March 2020, will have not three but FIVE Pakistani actors in it. 

Yes, apart from Nasir Chinyoti, Iftikhar Thakur and Akram Udas who starred in the original, the 2nd part will have Pakistani actors named Zafri Khan and Ruby Anum as well. 

While Zafri  Khan will be seen playing the role of an Advocate in the film, with immigrants trying hard to get their permanent residency coming to him, while Ruby Anum, a famous Pakistani actress, will reportedly be seen playing the role of Iftikar Thakur a.k.a Chaudhary Shamsher’s wife.

As far as Indian actors are concerned, apart from Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal, the movie also star another big name – Garry Sandhu in it. Another significant role will be played by veteran actress Nirmal Rishi. 

Chal Mera Putt 2 is produced by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, directed by Janjot Singh and will be releasing on 13th March 2020.

Yesterday the makers of Ik Sandhu Hunda Si, released another song from the film that’s trending high on Youtube because of its emotionally charged content and terrific video. 

One of the best parts of the Dil Todan Walya Nu’s video is that it touches the theme of betrayal in love amid high-octane action – a rare on-screen combination for which both the lead actors – Gippy Grewal and Neha Sharma – and the director Rakesh Mehta deserve full praise.

In fact, the Pawan Malhotra’s callousness and Roshan Prince’s helplessness as a friend is also very well shown in the song’s video. Thus, making it a wonderful song not just musically and lyrically but also cinematographically. 

Dil Todan Walya Nu has been penned and composed by Happy Raikoti and sung by Himmat Sandhu. Music is by Desi Crew.

The audience is enjoying their laughter ride with the recently released trailer of Rhythm Boyz Entertainment’s another flick, “Chal Mera Putt 2”. Like the song, the trailer is also receiving the overwhelming response from the audience, across the Globe and is trending too.

Well, as we can see in the trailer, the story of “Chal Mera Putt 2” will depict the the continued story of Indian and Pakistani residents from Part One, “Chal Mera Putt” but in the sequel, we will see one more addition in the group, who is none other than the favorite of so many, the famous and the much-loved singer. Garry Sandhu, who might have bagged an important role in the film.

Gippy Grewal’s Humble Motion Pictures will be releasing another content rich movie titled ‘Maa’ on 8th May 2020

Humble Motion Pictures is always seen to be in the limelight for rolling out content driven movies such as Ardaas, Ardaas Karaan, Manje Bistre, and the likes, and this time, their team is all set to trace the purest and most beautiful relationship which is that of a mother.

Their upcoming Punjabi movie titled ‘Maa’ is all set to release on 8th May 2020 and the Omjee group recently shared the news on their Instagram profile.

Directed by Baljit Singh Deo and produced by Gippy Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal, the shooting of ‘Maa’ is going in full swing.

Just as the title suggests, the movie will pay an ode to the pious relationship of a mother and the unconditional love and care that she always has in store to offer.

According to sources, the star cast of the film will have Bollywood actress Divya Dutta playing a unique role, in addition to Babbal Rai, Aarushi Sharma, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Vadda Grewal and Rana Ranbir in pivotal roles.

The movie is slated to release under the banner of Humble Motion Pictures and Omjee Star Studios on 8th May 2020.
