Off-Roading Event at Forest Hill Resort (FHR) Attracts Motor Sports Enthusiasts

Chandigarh, September 15, 2026: Hundred (100) motor sports enthusiasts’ experienced the thrill of off-roading at an event organised at Forest Hill Resort (FHR), located on the outskirts of Chandigarh. Set amid the Shiwalik landscape, the resort provided participants an opportunity to test their driving skills on specially designed off-road trails featuring challenging terrain and natural obstacles.

The event showcased the growing potential of the Chandigarh region as a destination for off-roading, outdoor recreation and adventure tourism, offering experiences that combine the thrill of adventure with the tranquillity of nature.

Speaking on the occasion, Devinder Sandhu, Founder, Forest Hill Resort, said that FHR was designed to offer visitors much more than a conventional resort experience. “Forest Hill is a nature retreat as well as an adventure destination where guests can experience the outdoors through activities such as off-roading, trekking, horse riding, boating, fishing and bird watching. Experiences such as Mowgli Walk, nature walks and camping further allow visitors to connect with the natural surroundings,” he said.

The off-roaders navigated rough terrain, natural obstacles and specially created challenging trails, making for an action-packed experience away from the bustle of city life. Sandhu said such events also helped bring people closer to outdoor activities and nature while promoting a culture of adventure and responsible recreation.

“At FHR, trained experts from professional organisations are engaged to conduct adventure activities in a safe and organised manner. Participants are provided the necessary guidance and safety equipment. Children and youngsters above 15 can participate in adventure activities, while separate safe entertainment options are available for younger children,” Sandhu said.

He added that the resort was working towards establishing FHR as a holistic eco-sanctuary where visitors could choose from a range of experiences based on their interests. “The idea is to bring adventure, nature and leisure together at one destination, allowing people to take a break from their routine without having to travel far from Chandigarh,” he said.

Sandhu said destinations such as FHR could also contribute to giving tourism in Chandigarh and the surrounding region a wider push. “When quality nature and adventure destinations develop around Chandigarh, they can encourage longer visitor stays, attract tourists looking for experiential travel and create demand for allied services such as transport, hospitality, food, local experiences and other tourism-related activities. This can have a cascading effect on the regional economy and create employment opportunities at the local level,” he said.

With its proximity to Chandigarh and its combination of nature, adventure and leisure experiences, FHR aims to contribute to the development of the region as an emerging destination for experiential and adventure tourism.

Every pizza begins with fresh dough, handcrafted daily by skilled pizzaiolos before being topped with carefully sourced ingredients and baked in traditional ovens.

Himachal’s most trusted jewellery brand, Verma Jewellers, wins its 15th National Award

Solan, September 5, 2026: Verma Jewellers won its fifteenth national award in Mumbai. At the Retail Jeweller India Awards 2026, held at the Grand Hyatt, the brand took the Groom’s Accessory of the Year title and was also nominated in the Jadau Earring category. The award was received by Mr Akshay Verma, Managing Director, who addressed a press conference in Solan along with Ms Pallavi Verma, Creative Director, to share details of the achievement with the media.

It is the fifth consecutive year that Verma Jewellers has been honoured on a national platform — an unbroken run for a brand that operates two showrooms in Himachal, in a sector led by chains many times its size.

The fifteen awards span the business rather than any single strength. National recognition began in 2022 with the National Award for Retail Promotion of the Year at the Retail Jeweller India Awards and the Coolest Ad Campaign at India’s Coolest Store Awards. Recognition has followed every year since — across store design, advertising, digital engagement, retail leadership and jewellery craft — including Best Independent Jeweller, All India, at the Retail Jeweller MD & CEO Awards 2025, and, at the same awards in 2024, Independent Retail Jeweller of the Year (North).

“This award came to us in Mumbai, but it was Himachal that won it,” Mr Verma said. “Fifteen national awards may stand in our name today, but the real claimants of every one of them are our customers. It is the trust and affection that families in Himachal have shown us across generations that has carried us to the national stage.”

That trust was built over three generations. The late Shri Jawala Prasad Verma founded the business in 1967. Shri Naresh Chand Verma carried it forward on honesty, discipline, fairness and a customer-first instinct, moving into the present Solan premises in 1995. And in September 2002, under the third generation, Verma Jewellers became the first jeweller in Himachal Pradesh to receive BIS hallmarking certification — at a time when hallmarking was still uncommon across much of the country.

“For us, a national award is not just a trophy or an occasion to celebrate,” Mr Verma said. “It is independent confirmation that the design and craftsmanship coming out of Himachal meet national standards. Our effort is that customers here should not have to look towards the metros for good design and a jewellery experience they can trust.”

He added that the true worth of jewellery cannot be judged on making charges alone. A customer is entitled to clear information on purity, net gold weight, stone quality, certification and buyback terms.

“Wedding jewellery is never only a purchase. It is sentiment, memory and asset, all three at once,” he said. “So alongside a beautiful design, a customer deserves full information, transparency and long-term trust. That is what Verma Jewellers commits to.”

This year’s winning piece, created in the brand’s own design studio, is an intricately crafted representation of Lord Shiva in gold, embellished with blue sapphire (Nilam) and diamonds. The nominated jadau earring combines polki-style diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pearls. Both pieces were placed on display for the media on Friday.

Ms Pallavi Verma, Creative Director at Verma Jewellers, said:“For us, design does not mean simply making a piece of jewellery beautiful. We design around the customer’s occasion, their clothing, their personality, and how comfortably they can wear the piece for years. The award and the national nomination are both an acknowledgement of our design range and our creative capability.”

The brand has credited the achievement to its customers, and to its team, designers and karigars.

Verma Jewellers operates flagship showrooms in Solan and Rohru. The brand also announced its wedding jewellery exhibition, which runs in Solan from 13 to 16 September at Hotel The Grand Paragon Palace and in Shimla from 19 to 22 September at Hotel Marina, Mall Road. The brand will launch its Polki collection at the exhibition.

Tutt Paini English Ne Trailer: When English Becomes A Matter Of Status

The trailer of Tutt Painī English Ne has released today and it promises a light-hearted Punjabi family comedy built around a very familiar obsession: the importance we give to speaking English.

Set against a quintessential Punjabi backdrop, the film brings together family, relationships and plenty of misunderstandings. The humour feels woven in everyday situations, while the story also takes a playful dig at the tendency to associate English with status and sophistication.

Simi Chahal looks natural and convincing in the comic situations, while Mandy Takhar brings her own lively energy. Satvinder Singh, along with supporting actors Rupinder Rupi and Gurpreet Bhangu, adds to the ensemble feel of the film. The reunion of Simi and Mandy, almost a decade after Rabb Da Radio, is an added attraction.

The imagery is another highlight. The sunflower fields, earthy village settings, warm interiors and rain-soaked night sequences give the trailer a distinctly Punjabi visual identity. The camera work by Santosh Thundiyil also lends the film a more cinematic, polished look.

With Jass Grewal as writer, the film comes from a writer known for Punjabi stories that balance humour with emotion and strong cultural roots. Varinder Sharma’s direction appears to keep the treatment lively and balanced, while the production team of Maan Kaur, Geeta Agrawal Sharma and Rajinder Sharma Nanu backs what looks like a full-fledged family entertainer.

Overall, the trailer looks colourful, entertaining and rooted in Punjabi culture, with enough comedy and emotion to make it an appealing family watch.

Tutt Paini English Ne releases worldwide on 25th September worldwide.
