One of the most eagerly awaited Jassie Gill Punjabi movies in the year 2020 is going to another Punjabi Comedy – Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2, which is the sequel of Daddy Cool Munde Fool that released in the year 2013. 

The news of this Punjabi comedy was announced today on the social media pages of the cast and filmmakers with a new poster. Have a look:

Release Date of Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2: 28th August 2020.

Along with Jassie Gill, the other male lead in Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2 will be the cute singer and actor Ranjit Bawa, who’s just released his Punjabi song – Velly Tere Pind De – a few days ago.

Just like the Original, Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2 will also be directed by Simerjit Singh. While the original starred Amrinder Gill and Harish Verma in the lead, the duo has been replaced by Jassie Gill and Ranjit Bawa now. 

Why didn’t the makers make the sequel with the original actors – is something that nobody knows, but we hope that we’ll bring this information soon to our readers. 

Now talking about the Female leads of Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2, the film will star Arushi Sharma and Tania as the love interests of our heroes.

Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2 will be presented by Collective Media and Speed Records. The film will be distributed worldwide by Omjee Star Studios. 

Before Daddy Cool Munde Fool 2, Jassie Gill will also be seen in a Bollywood movie opposite top heroine Kangana Ranaut in their movie called Panga. Recently Jassie Gill and Kangana Ranaut also posted some pictures together, which are being poured with a lot of love from the fans of both.

Pind Surangpuriya – Yes, this is actually the name of an upcoming Punjabi movie starring the young singing sensation Armaan Bedil, who’s getting quite popular among the Punjabi producers here. 

While just before the start of 2020, Armaan Bedil’s first Punjabi movie as a lead actor was announced named, “Nirbhau Nirvair”, now the fresh news is the announcement of his upcoming flick Pind Surangpuriya. 

From its name, the film seems to be a story of a particular Punjabi village. When you read what’s written on the poster in Gurmukhi: “Haaseyaan De Paenge Lenter”, one can safely assume that Pind Surangpuriya is going to be another Punjabi comedy. 

As of now, what we can tell you is that Pind Surangpuriya will be made under the banner of Joy Production House. It is written and directed by Mukesh Vohra. The movie is produced by Manoj Sethi.

Besides Armaan Bedil, Pind Surangpuriya’s cast includes Akanksha Sareen, Mannat Kaur, Rajiv Thakur, Rana Jung Bahadur and Vijay Tandon.

So far the release date of Pind Surangpuriya is not announced.

Diljott, Jordan Sandhu, and BN Sharma starrer Khatre Da Ghuggu is slated to release on January 17, 2020

The Punjabi film industry is all set to kick-start 2020 with utmost zeal as Khatre Da Ghuggu knocks the door on January 17.

Produced by Ananta Film and directed by Shivtar Shiv and Aman Cheema, Khatre Da Ghuggu narrates the story of a Radio Jockey named Fateh who is being played by Jordan Sandhu.

While speaking to Iampunjaabi.com, Jordan Sandhu said, “Fateh works as a Radio Jockey to earn money and fulfill his childhood dream of becoming a singer. Owing to his huge fan following, Fateh meets ‘Meet’ who is being played by Diljott.”

So the story is all about the duo getting attracted to each other and how they eventually fall in love eventually. But as destiny would have it, this love story finds its share of thorns.

The girl’s father ‘Kanwar Mahinder Singh’ who is being played by the talented comedian B. N. Sharma disapproves the relationship. A very superstitious person, Kanwar, works for the Punjab Electricity Board, who is already unhappy with his family, office workers and his whole life.

With many ups and downs because of a gangster, an astrologer, a hypocrite, and various circumstances, the story unfolds in a rather comic and interesting way which promises to keep the audiences intrigued till the end.

Will Meet get his love? will Fateh become a singer? will enthusiasm come back in Kanwar Mahinder Singh’s life? All these questions are answered in an entertaining way in the film ‘Khatre Da Ghuggu’. Mark your calendars for 17th January to know more!

Do you know Salman Khan has featured in a Punjabi song? Yes, Salman Khan has a Punjab connection. While Hrithik Roshan has appeared in a Punjabi Movie, Salman Khan has been in a popular Punajbi Song called ‘Jugni’.

The song is sung by Sukhwinder Singh and was made thirty years ago for a Doordarshan New Year video.

The Song concept was about a Punjabi Girl Jugni (played by Manjit Kular), Who visits Mumbai and is surprised to see different sides of the country. During her Mumbai darshan, she gets excited to see a film shoot starring Salman Khan.

The year 2019 has proved to be a little better in terms of business for Punjabi movie industry. While on one hand we had a super-successful film in commercial cinema category as Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa’s ‘Shadaa’, another blockbuster turned out to be Muklawa – superb period film. Another surprise was Ardaas Karaan (a non-commercial movie) written, directed and produced by Gippy Grewal. 

According to Mr Pramod Thakur of Whitehill Studios, in 2019 Punjabi cinema box office has declared that out of 56 films released only 14 movies were hits and semi hits (which means, they recovered their cost and could stay in theatres.) while 42 were flops. 

Comparing this data with 2018, Punjabi cinema had given only 8 hits or semi-hits out 46 films released that year while in 2017, out of 37 Punjabi movies released, only 8 movies were hits or semi hits while 29 were declared flop. 

So, if we talk about the hit vs flop ratio, 2019 clearly stands out better in comparison to last two years which means, Punjabi movie industry is certainly on an upswing. 

Punjabi film pundits are speculating that there will be overall increase in 2020’s business. As compared to 2018 and 2019, wherein the annual turnover of Punjabi film industry as a whole was Rs 154 Crore and Rs 176 Crore respectively, in 2020 the business is likely to touch the Rs 200 Crore mark!
