 Ranu Mandal, a viral internet singing sensation was spotted at a railway station singing the famous ‘Ik pyar ka nagma hai’ originally sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

After that she appeared in a reality show where Himesh Reshammiya found her really talented and offered a song in his upcoming Hindi movie – Happy, Hardy, Veer.

Yesterday Khalsa Aid had announced that Gippy Grewal personally called their team members to donate an amount of Rs 7 lakh to Punjab flood victims, now according to Khalsa Aid, an additional sum of Rs 3 lakh has also been donated by the Ardaas Karaan, director and producer. 

Confirming the same, Amarpreet Singh of Khalsa Aid said, “Gippy ji told us that though he ‘physically’ wanted to help the Khalsa Aid members who are selflessly helping the flood victims and their families at ground zero, but due to some prior commitments, the actor had to leave for abroad. Still, he didn’t leave any stone unturned to help his fellow Punjabis, so he has now donated a total of Rs 10 lakh for the rescue operations, distribution of relief material and rehabilitating the Punjab flood victims.”

Among those personalities from entertainment industry who have reached ground zero to help the victims and Khalsa Aid workers is Himanshi Khurana, who have tremendously helped the affected families by distributing medicines, sanitary napkins for women, food aid and much more. 

Singer and actor Tarsem Jassar also reached the affected areas and helped carrying out rescue operations as well as distributing medical aid and food material.

Gurpreet Ghuggi also met the affected families in the flood-hit areas. 

Meanwhile, celebrities like Neeru Bajwa, Sonam Bajwa, Kavita Kaushik, Ammy Virk among others have took down to their social media handles to share the helpline numbers to gather maximum help.

Punjab is witnessing its worst flood in three decades. More than hundreds have gone missing in 500 villages in these floods. The rains have led havoc in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ferozpur and Rupnagar area of Punjab.

The makers of upcoming Punjabi movie, Doorbeen which will star Ninja, Wamiqa Gabbi and Jass Bajwa in the lead roles, have shown the act of benevolence by announcing that the film DOORBEEN will contribute 20% for Punjab flood relief from profit share. 

Releasing on September 27th, ‘Doorbeen’ is reportedly a period film. It has been written by Sukhraj Chopra and being helmed by Ishan Chopra. Moreover, Sukhraj Randhawa, Jugraj Bal and Yadwinder Virk are producing the same.

While model Himanshi Khurana went that extra mile to reach the ground zero and distribute relief material to the flood victims and their families, social-activist-turned actor Anmol Kwatra announced to donate his first salary from movies. 

Anmol Kwatra is debuting in a Punjabi film called ‘Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’ which has Gippy Grewal and Neha Sharma as the lead pair. The film is slated to release on 20th February 2019. 

In a viral video over 30 minutes long, Anmol has urged other people to come forward and extend help to the flood victims. 

It may be recalled, that in the past few days more than 300 villages in Punjab got affected when floods wrecked havoc in the State. The heavy rainfall combined with the deluge of Bhakra dam water resulted in heavy losses. Many people lost their cattle and loved ones.

This Friday’s Punjabi movie release, Naukar Vahuti Da starring Binnu Dhillon and Kulraj Randhawa received an overwhelming response on the box office. 

The much-awaited Punjabi comedy drama movie, Naukar Vahuti Da hit the silver screen on 23^rd August with Binnu Dhillon, Kulraj Randhawa, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Jaswinder Bhalla, Preet Anand, and Upasna Singh in pivotal roles. Directed by Smeep Kang, Naukar Vahuti Da is produced by Rohit Kumar and Sanjeev Kumar under the banner of Rangrezaa films in association with the Om Jee Group.

On the first day of its release, the movie carved its presence across the globe with screening in India, Singapore, New Zealand and Australia. Punjabis from different locations loved watching the movie and termed it be a complete family entertainment movie with quintessential elements of light-hearted comedy, drama and social values.

“Naukar Vahuti Da was the perfect kick-start to my weekend. I and my family really enjoyed watching the movie. It had the perfect blend of comedy, entertainment and seriousness. The entire team has done a great job,” shared Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Delhi who went to watch the movie with his family.

The audience in Australia loved watching the duo of Binnu Dhillon and Kulraj Randhawa in an all new avtar. Jasleen Kaur, an entrepreneur and a movie buff based in Australia shared, “My admiration for Binnu Dhillon has increased by multi-fold after watching Naukar Vahuti Da. He is truly a versatile actor and he aced the dual role in the movie. Kulraj Randhawa looked equally adorable. It is so good to have her back in the Punjabi film industry.”

Divya Sharma, a post-graduate student from Chandigarh, who went to watch the movie with her friends shared,“Each and every character in the movie was so apt and well-suited. Naukar Vahuti Da had a really beautiful storyline. I loved the movie!”  

“We also loved the lively music and comic scenes in the movie. I would recommend it to be a must-watch for everyone alike,” her friend, Jyotsna added.

Naukar Vahuti Da is also produced by Ruchi Trehan and Ashu Munish Sahani and co-produced by Pankaj Trehan and Praful Jadav. The music of the movie is given by Gurmeet Singh and the storyline has been penned by Vaibhav and Sherya.

Recently Sonam Bajwa shared a story on her Instagram that showed a clip of Sidhu Moose Wala in it. Sidhu Moose Wala who is making his acting debut in Teri Meri Jodi (releasing on 13th Sep) and has just rolled out superhit number ‘Same Beef’ might be collaborating with Sonam Bajwa over a project. 

It is speculated that either the two will work in a song video together or they’ll be shooting together for a film song in either Adab Mutiyaran or Yes I Am A Student. 

Adab Mutiyaran releasing in October will be produced by White Hill Studios.
