The film has already gone on the floor. Directed by Simerjit Singh Hundal, the movie will be releasing next year – September 6, 2019.

Starring Roshan Prince and Rubina Bajwa in the lead, the movie is a period drama that talks about years old Punjabi tradition and values. Along with the lead cast, the movie features actors like Nirmal Rishi, Sardar Sohi, Gurmeet Saajan, Sunita Dhir, Hobby Dhaliwal, Anita Devgan, Rana Jang Bahadur, Harby Sangha, Hardeep Gill, Rupinder Rupi, Malkit Rouni, Harinder Bhullar, Sanjiv Klair, Deep Dhillon, Gurpreet Bhangu, Arun Bali, Satinder Kaur, Narinder Neena Mohni, Ravinder Mand and Vijay Tandon.

Although Navaniat Singh’s Punjabi SINGHAM, which is the official remake of Ajay Devgn’s Hindi Singham, has retained the same characterisation as that of the original yet there’s some slight difference when it comes to naming them!

Just as Ajay Devgn, who played Bajirao Singham, and villain Prakash Raj who essayed Jaykant Shikre, Punjabi Singham also has the protagonist as Parmish Verma and a strong antagonist in Kartar Cheema. However, in our Parmish Verma’s Singham, the name of the male lead is DILSHER and not ‘Singham’. Surprised?

Well confirmed sources suggest that in Punjabi SINGHAM, Singham will be the name of the village and not the lead actor (a fictitious village created in Amritsar).  Kartar Cheema would be essaying the role of Shikre, which was portrayed by Prakash Raj in the Hindi version.

Speaking in an interview, Kartar Cheema confirmed, “Yes, I am playing the conniving politician-cum-don, ‘Bhullar’ in the film.” Playing the female lead Nikky from the Hindi version, is Sonam Bajwa.

It has also come into picture that Ajay Devgn, along with the production team, had a discussion over changing the names of characters. “Since it’s in Punjabi, the film has to reflect Punjabi culture. That’s why the decision was taken for certain alterations,” a news report quotes. Apart from Amritsar, the film will be shot in villages and rural belt near Chandigarh.

It is also learnt that the same action master PK who choreographed the stunts in the Hindi Singham has been roped in for its Punjabi counterpart as well.

Parmish Verma starrer ‘Singham’ has been in the limelight since the time it was announced. Now when the news of the leading lady of the film is out, spotlight has shifted once again to this Punjabi remake of Ajay Devgn’s famous Hindi franchise. 

Earlier the makers kept the details regarding the female lead in the movie under wrap, but now the same has been unveiled. The Nikka Zaildar fame actress Sonam Bajwa will be sharing the screen with Parmish Verma in ‘Singham’. Sonam recently posted a picture of hers along with Verma to make the announcement.

While the exact release date of Punjabi Singham hasn’t been revealed as yet, the film shall be hitting the silver screen sometime around mid 2019. Navaniat Singh is the director of the film while Ajay Devgn, Kumar Mangay Pathak and Abhishek Pathak have produced the same.

One of our Punjabi film industry’s ace writer and producer – Naresh Kathooria – man behind films like Carry on Jatta series, Mr and Mrs 420 series and so many more, shocked his followers on social media today when he posted a picture of a man pregnant standing besides his wife.  

Well, though it was just a cartoon picture, Kathooria made his point clear in his own hilarious style that he (Naresh Kathooria Films), Ksshitij Chaudhary Films and Frriday Rushh Motion Pictures are working on a film concept that’s going to show how the world of a couple changes when the husband (followed by taunts by his wife) decides to become pregnant and deliver a baby!!! Although according to Naresh Kathooria, this untitled film is actually going to be a comedy flick but NOT without a message. He says, “Ultimately the husband (hero) realises as to how much pain a woman has to endure to give birth to a new life. But all this happens merrily.”

At a time when Punjabi cinema is on an upswing and not many filmmakers thinking past usual subjects eg. wedding-themed comedies, it’s nice to learn that someone is thinking in a completley new direction and coming up with an innovative subject! We wish the team great luck for the same.

Last seen in Baaz (2014) as a police inspector, Babbu Mann is making a comeback as an actor in Punjabi cinema with a film titled – Banjara – The Truck Driver’. In this film, the singer-actor, not just single or double but in a triple role. 

From the trailer it’s clear that the film is a romantic drama with its story traveling through different eras – 1947, 1984 and 2018. What’s shown is that romance changes with time, even the clothes, manners, looks and etiquettes of actors but what remains the same is Babbu Mann – The Truck driver.  

Directed by Mushtaq Pasha, the movie will be hitting the theatres on 7th December.

As far as Babbu Mann’s role is concerned, he will be playing the son, the grandson and the grandfather in his triple role! However, the film will not see Babbu ageing, as he will play the pota, beta and dada’s roles in the young avatar of their respective times. The film will highlight eras of 1947, 1984 and 2018 showing love interests of three generations in their younger days.

Yes, the first Punjabi film dedicated to ‘Bachelors’ and the struggle they have to face in leading with people on every day basis – depicted on screen in the most humorous way. The film titled ‘Bhajjo Veero Ve’ and starring Amberdeep Singh and Simi Chahal in the lead is hitting the big screen on 14th December. Its trailer is already out and has amused us enough to take us to the cinema halls. Have you checked it as yet?

Written and directed by Amberdeep himself, the film will showcase the fresh pairing of Amberdeep and Simi Chahal on screen. The project has been bankrolled by Karaj Gill and Talwinder Hayre. Famous standup comedian and Punjabi film producer Kapil Sharma is all set to marry his long-time girlfriend Ginni Chatrath on December 12. As the wedding date gets close, Kapil Sharma is visiting his near and dear ones to invite them to his wedding. Recently, he visited Punjabi singer-actor Roshan Prince and his family. 

Along with Vikram Grover and Rajiv Thakur, he went to his old time buddy Roshan Prince’s house and even met his parents there. Roshan Prince couldn’t obviously contain his emotions at this warm gesture by Kapil and took it to his social media to thank him by posting 8 pictures.

On the work front, Roshan Prince has kick started the shoot of ‘Laddu Barfi’. It is the second production venture of director Simerjit Singh. Directed by Avtar Singh, the movie features Ronica Gandhi as the female lead. The film is scheduled to hit the box office in 2019.
