Released on the Women’s Day, Sonam Bajwa, Tania, Nirmal Rishi and Gurnam Bhullar, starrer ‘Guddiyan Patole’ has made history at the box office by turning out to be the highest opening for a female lead Punjabi film.

Presented by Villagers Film Studios under the name of Ammy Virk, it is Gurnam’s debut movie.

Recently, the news was shared by team ‘Guddiyan Patole’ on their social media. Written by Jagdeep Sidhu and directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Guddiyan Patole is a story about a grandmother and her NRI granddaughters.

The film received massive response from the public and garnered great critical reviews as well. Sonam Bajwa was especially, appreciated for her acting, costumes and dialogue delivery.

Honey Singh celebrated International Women’s Day in his own unique way yesterday by posting a video on his Instagram account through which he also made an announcement of his upcoming song. 

Yo Yo Honey Singh said that he has composed a song which revolves around the idea of women empowerment, and that he will release this song in the next 5-6 months.

He also shared an artwork by @guneet.art (Instagram) depicting the need of gender equality in the world. He captioned the post as: “We are so much powerful/better TOGETHER… cheers to women power. Better the balance, Better the world.”

Smeep Kang, touted in Punjabi cinema as the king of ‘comedy’ is back with another laughter riot with none other than Binnu Dhillon in the lead! The film is titled ‘Band Vaaje’ and is all set to release on 15th of March. This is the first time that Binnu Dhillon will be working along with Mandy Takhar as her ‘hero’.

It is said that Band Vaaje is another comic caper but the premise of this film is different than most Punjabi comedies. It’s a story about a guy who falls in love with a Pakistani Punjabi girl and how he has to convince her and his own family to get married to her! In spite of it being a sensitive issue, the makers of the film say that they’ve handled the subject in a light hearted manner.

Speaking about Band Vaaje with us, the captain of the ship, Smeep Kang said, “It’s true that Band Vaaje is another comic caper but the premise of this film is total different than what you’ve seen before in my films. We’ve picked a unique subject which is treated in a light-hearted manner in spite of it being a sensitive issue. With the female character of the film, being a Pakistani Punjabi, the story has a lot to offer than just regular slapstick comedy.”

Kulwinder Billa, whose film Parahuna, released last year is all set for his next film –   ‘Parauneya Nu Dafa Karo’.

Singer turned actor Kulwinder Billa, who made his acting debut with Gippy Grewal’s Subedar Joginder Singh last year, took it to social media to share the first look poster of his upcoming movie. Presented by 5 River Production & Karan Buttar in association with Aman Hayer Productions, ‘Parauneya Nu Dafa Karo’ is directed by Simerjit Singh. Produced by Karan Buttar, the movie is written by Rakesh Dhawan.

Kulwinder shared the poster with the caption: “#Parahune fer aa rahe a new movie lea k.”

Ayushmann who gave two blockbusters last year in the form of Badhaai Ho and Andhadhun is all set to return to the big screen in a ‘cop’ avatar!

The film is titled ‘Article 15′ and is being directed by Anubhav Sinha. Taran Adarsh, Indian Film Critic took social media to share Ayushmann’s first look from the movie ‘Article 15’.

The shoot of ‘Article 15’ has started in Lucknow and the film (besides Ayushmann) stars Isha Talwar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub.  Another movie of Ayushmann ‘Dream Girl’ shall release on September 13.

All set to make its way into theatres this Women’s Day (8th March), Punjabi movie Guddiyan Patole starring Sonam Bajwa and Gurnam Bhullar as the lead pair is the latest talk of the town. 

In an interview, Sonam not only made a startling revelation that she did her entire look and costumes for the first time for any movie herself, she also shared her chemistry with Gurnam Bhullar, with whom she’s working for the first time. “Gurnam has a cute smile and he’s someone I was even able to rebuke at times (laughs) as he doesn’t behave like a star at all. He’s easily accessible and one can’t take a jibe at him and he won’t mind. As an actor, I didn’t feel at all that I am working with a newbie, he was so professional and thorough.”  

The other girl in the film, Tani who plays Sonam’s cousin in Guddiyan Patole told Iampunjaabi.com that both she and Gurnam would often play games on the sets like Luddo and Thumbfighting. She also told us that she and Gurnam would also “fight” over cheating during games and sometimes not speak to each other for days!
