Sarabha The Cry For Freedom: Kavi Raz’s Directorial Goes On The Floor

Famous for Satinder Sartaaj’s ‘The Black Prince’, director Kavi Raz is ready to work on a Punjabi movie, a period drama ‘Sarabha The Cry For Freedom’.  According to reports, the movie is based on the Ghadar movement and will be bringing the real-life story of freedom fighter Kartar Singh Sarabha on the big screen.

The shoot of the same has commenced and actor Jobanpreet Singh will be essayin a pivotal role in the movie. 

This period drama is scheduled to release on May 24.

Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu have commenced preparations of their debut Bollywood project ’83, which is based on India’s first World Cup winning team captain Kapil Dev.

In this film directed by Kabir Khan, Ammy Virk shall be seen portraying the role fast bowler Balwinder Singh Sandhu, who is known for knocking out Gordon Greenidge in 1983 cricket World Cup final. 

According to reports, both the stars have begun taking the training under Balwinder Singh Sandhu.

Ammy Virk shared an Instagram story in which the duo can be seen having a fun time with Balwinder Singh Sandhu during their practice session.

Meanwhile, Ammy also announced the day before yesterday that he will be playing the role of an IAF Pilot in his second Bollywood film, Bhuj – The Pride Of India, in which he’ll be seen along with stars like Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.

Kavita Kaushik Gives A Befitting Response To Her Controversy With Binnu Dhillon In Her Own Bindass Style

A few weeks back, there was a report in which Kavita Kaushik made a strong statement on “Not” working with Binnu Dhillon again. She revealed the reason of not working with her Vekh Baraatan Challiyan and Vadhayiyan Ji Vadhayiyan co-star as the films being centered only around the latter, leaving very little scope for her to perform. She even said that she felt embarrassed for having nothing else to do in these movies other than just looking good and dancing around!

Having done meaty roles in Television for a number of years, Kavita Kaushik’s resentment towards Punjabi film industry’s obsession for male leads is understandable. A strong performer like her yearns for roles that have substance in them and the one, who’s never content with just glamour-enhancing roles. 

Taking a step in that direction, Kavita Kaushik signed a film called ‘Mindo Taseeldarni’ which was in news recently for its ongoing shoot in Punjab and also the fact that the poster of the film had Kavita Kaushi’s name written before her male co-star – Rajvir Jawandha!

Only yesterday, the FIR girl tweeted a pic from ‘Mindo Taseeldarni’ which she captioned as : Mindo Taseeldarni! 28th June ! This summer full on masala film , Chautala fans will be happy too!

So Kavita Kaushik has indirectly given a strong reply to her detractors, those who thought her decision of leaving Binnu Dhillon was a wrong one! Kavita has clearly stated that her next film will be loved by “her” Chautala fans too, which means this role is a meaty one! Besides that, the look that she’s giving in this photograph is that of a fierce, bindass, emancipated woman who gives a damn to her critics.

According to the producer, Nadhoo Khan is a period romantic drama, shot in Fazilka and some remote areas of Rajasthan.

Talking to us, Harish Verma said, “The movie is an intense romantic drama. The storyline is very gripping. When I read the script I was convinced that I must do something so different. I haven’t done a role like this before and I said yes to the makers.”

Besides Harish Verma and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead, the movie features BN Sharma, Harby Sangha, Hobby Dhaliwal, Malkeet Rauni, Rupinder Rupi, Gurpreet Bhangu, Harinder Bhullar, Gurchet Chitarkar, Parkash Gadhu, Mahabir Bhullar, Raj Dhaliwal, Gagan Gill, Satwinder Kaur, Maninder Velly, Master Ansh Tejpal and Chacha Bishna in important roles.

Playing the love-interest of Gagan Kokri in the movie, Monica Gill has come a long way since her “Ambarsariya” days – the film with which she made her Punjabi debut. Although born and brought up in the US, Monica Gill’s look and dialogues in the film are so worked upon that she looks absolutely fit for this role.

Playing a simple Punjabi village girl she’s captured her fans’ imagination like anything who have only seen her in glamorous roles so far.

Known for his stupendous performances in films like ‘Qismat’, ‘Nikka Zaildar’ and ‘Harjeeta’ among others, he will now be seen flying a fighter jet in Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film ‘Bhuj The Pride Of India’.

After Bagging Her 4th Best Actress Award, This is What Sargun Said When Asked About Her Bollywood Plans

While her last year’s superhit film Qismat got the Best Film Award in the PTC Film Awards’ “Critics” category, Sargun Mehta, herself bagged the Best Actress award for the same. Though this was her fourth ‘Best Actress’ award in a row yet this amazingly talented beauty gave all the credit for the award to the Punjabi audience.

Talking about the award, Sargun candidly said, “I always say that Punjabi audience has always respected me and praised me for my work in films. I am so thankful to the audience. Today, whatever I have achieved is because of them.”

She further talked about her plans for Bollywood, “No, I’ve no plans yet. I do what I feel is the best for me. I do get offers from Bollywood, TV and Pollywood, but I always give preference to the script.

Earlier, Sargun Mehta bagged the Best Actress for the films ‘Angrej’, ‘Love Punjab’ and ‘Lahoriye’.
