Upcoming Punjabi comedy action thriller movie, Daaka will bring to silver-screen the first-of-its-kind roles for the star-cast, according to the lead hero, producer and the writer of the film, Gippy Grewal. 

While talking about the star-cast in the movie, Grewal, who is reckoned to be the man behind giving actors the role of their lifetime shared, “Daaka has given Rana Ranbir, Hobby Dhaliwal, Prince Kanwaljit Singh, and Ravinder Mand the role of their lifetime. They will be seen in a first-of-its-kind avatar on the silver screen.”

[h4]“Different plot, while the underlying storyline is that of bank robbery. Truck loads of comedy, drama, action, and thrill. It aesthetically captures the intricacies of Punjabi lifestyle and its roots,” shared Gippy Grewal[/h4]

While Prince Kanwaljit Singh will be seen playing the role of a police inspector, Hobby Dhaliwal will be seen in the shoes of Sukhchain, the main antagonist of the movie.

“The writer in me automatically feels extremely elated in writing such characters that are meant to be prented larger-than-life on-screen, sometimes even larger than the protagonist,” said Grewal.

“I had to give a lot of thought behind how Sukhchain will make an entry in the movie, what background music will introduce him, what would be the first terrorizing words that he would utter and so on. I must say that not only Hobby ji but also the director, Baljit Singh Deo, supported me a lot in bringing this character alive on the screen in such an iconic way,” he further added.

Gippy Grewal himself will be seen playing the role of Shinda, a young boy who is deeply in love with Laali which is being played by Zareen Khan. Shinda is ready to go to any extent to marry his better-half and that’s how the story unfolds.

Shinda’s partner-in-crime, Balli his childhood friend who is being played by Rana Ranbir is seen to be supporting him through the thick and thin. “The storyline of Daaka has been written beautifully with a lot of thrill and suspense that will keep the viewers intrigued till the end. It also captures the beauty of relationships that is really heart-warming,” shared Ranbir. 

Daaka is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under banner of T-Series with Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal under Humble Motion Pictures. The movie is slated to release worldwide on November 1, 2019.

[h4]Bollywood actress, Zareen Khan is all set to mark her comeback on the Punjabi silver screen parallel to singer-turned-actor Gippy Grewal in ‘Daaka’ on 1st November. [/h4]

Upcoming Punjabi movie, Daaka is seen to be making headlines owing to the comeback of Jatt James Bond duo, Zareen Khan and Gippy Grewal. Khan, who garnered recognition from the item number “Character Dheela” in Ready, which was one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2011 marked her debut in the Punjabi film industry with Jatt James Bond about five years ago. The movie grossed over twenty crores in the box office and was critically acclaimed for its quality content and proficient acting by the the cast. 

Directed by Rohit Jugraj, Jatt James Bond featured Gippy Grewal in the shoes of Shinda, a young boy who was mistreated by his relatives and Zareen Khan in the shoes of Laali, Shinda’s better-half.

“Daaka and Jatt James Bond are somewhat the similar category of film since the characters of Shinda and Laali are the same. However, Daaka is a notch higher in terms of humour, comedy, drama, and thrill. It will bring to Punjabi film industry the first-of-its-kind comedy action thriller movie,” shared Grewal, the actor and screenplay writer of the movie.

Talking about her experience of working with Grewal, Zareen Khan shared, “Gippy has always made me feel comfortable in my skin that makes working with him a great experience. It was a lot of fun working with him for Daaka and I am hopeful that it will be loved by the audiences.”

Directed by Baljit Singh Deo and written by Gippy Grewal and Naresh Kathooria, Daaka is co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under banner of T-Series with Grewal and Ravneet Kaur Grewal under Humble Motion Pictures. The movie also stars Rana Ranbir and Naresh Kathooria in pivotal roles.

Punjabi actor, writer, director and producer, Gippy Grewal is these days leaving no stone unturned to promote his next ambitious project, Daaka – a thrilling film based on bank robbery.

This Friday’s release, Ardab Mutiyaran is paving the way to change contours in the Punjabi film industry with a liberating storyline on strong and independent women who are breaking stereotypes with each passing day.

Produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu under the banner of White Hill Studios, Ardab Mutiyaran stars Sonam Bajwa, Ninja, Ajay Sarkaria, and Mehreen Kaur Pirzada in the lead roles.

While much has been talked about the boisterous character of ‘Babbu Bains’ played by the very talented Sonam Bajwa, a little has been known about the ‘men in the lives of Ardab Mutiyaran’ so far.

Playing her romantic interest is Ajay Sarkaria, a new entrant in the Punjabi film industry, and the role of Sonam’s good friend is played by the superstar singer Ninja. While Sonam plays a boss lady who is a finance recover agent, Ninja will be seen stepping into the shoes of Vicky Ahuja, a young boy next door character, whereas Ajay will be playing the role of Rinku Bansal, the youngest brother and owner of Bansal Sweets.

Talking about working with the debutant Ajay, Ninja said that both of them shared a good camaraderie off the screen and their ‘bromance’ is something that’ll be clearly visible on screen also. Echoing the same thoughts, Ajay feels that it was simply a pleasure working with Ninja and getting inspired from his ‘terrific’ real-life weight-loss journey.

Throwing light on his role in the movie, Ninja says, “Vicky Ahuja is a very relatable character of a boy who is suppressed under the corporate slavery culture. It is only later when a strong lady supports him to break the shackles that he finds his way through the suppression.”

Providing a sneak-peek into his role, Ajay says, “Rinku is a very decent and simple boy who is being dominated by his brother’s wife. However, destiny unfolds in a different manner to rewrite his tale of love”.  

When asked about the “boys”, the leading lady Sonam said that she was absolutely at ease with working with them. “I am really happy to have had the opportunity to work with an awesome human being like Ninja and a superbly talented actor like Ajay. Both of them made sure that we, girls, are absolutely comfortable on the sets. The best part was when they helped me in learning ‘masculine’ gestures and expressions which helped me a great deal in fitting in the shoes of the tomboyish – ‘Babbu Bains’”, reminisces Sonam.

Ardab Mutiyaran is directed by Manav Shah and the screenplay is written by Dheeraj Rattan. It also stars B N Sharma, Navneet Nishan, Upasana Singh, Sudesh Lehri, and Inderpal Singh in pivotal roles.
