Shahid Kapoor, who’s been shooting for his upcoming Bollywood movie, Jersey in Chandigarh, Mohali has been reportedly badly injured at PCA Stadium.
For past few weeks, Shahid Kapoor has been shooting in Punjab for the role of his upcoming Bollywood movie, Jersey which is the Hindi remake of a South-Indian film by the same and based on the life of cricketer.
In the same movie, his father and versatile actor Pankaj Kapoor is also featuring as his cricket coach. While the duo was shooting in Chandigarh, their Punjabi fans were really excited and meeting them on the sets of Jersey quite often.
However, according to some reports, Shahid Kapoor got badly injured during the shoot of the movie at PCA stadium, Mohali.
Sources say that it so happened that he was giving a batting shot for the movie when a ball hit him hard directly on his lower lip, even though he was wearing a helmet.
The injury left him bleeding profusely, and in no time Shahid was rushed to a private hospital nearby.
The injury is so deep that even the shoot of Jersey has been halted and no news as to when it will begin again has been given by the makers.
Sources even said that hearing about the news of Shahid Kapoor’s accident, his wife Meera Kapoor also reached Chandigarh on the same day.
While we wish Shahid Kapoor a speedy recovery, we would like to inform our readers that Jersey is a real-life story based on the life of an Indian cricketer, who despite being immensely talented, struggled a lot to make his place in the national Indian cricket team.
Another cricket based film that is going to release in 2020 is Ranveer Singh starrer 83 based on the 1983 world-cup victory story of Indian cricket team.
The film also stars Punjabi actors like Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu. Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi will also star in 83 and play the role of one of the cricketers’ wife.
