Zirakpur, May 8, 2022:To raise awareness about and funds for differently-abled children -a special fashion runway show ‘Empower Diva 2022’ was held at Ramada Plaza, here. The glamorous event was organised by Rotary Zirakpur, NGO Empower and Elevate Wellness Club, Panchkula.
More than 35 well-known actresses and models and ‘Ms Elevate Diva’ winners did the ramp walk for this noble cause at the event. Renowned celebrities include, Manya Pathak, Zee TV actress who was seen in Hindi reality TV Show on Zee5 – ‘Dilli Darlings’ , actress Yamini Singh who is presently working in Star Plus show ‘Kabhi Kabhi Ittefaq Se’, she has featured in the film ‘Pagglait’ too, also sashayed down the ramp with the differently-abled kids at the event.
Addressing the media, on the sidelines of the mega event, Sharmita Bhinder, Founder of the NGO Empower said, “We are extremely delighted and overwhelmed to see the response to the event. Today’s event’s aim was to bring special children on a common platform and give them a different exposure and bring joy to their lives. As the core motive of the event was to raise the funds for special children, the amount collected from the event will be used for medications, workshops, education and family support to needy special children.”
Special children, models, and actresses too took part in the press conference to share greater details of the event with the media.
Yamini Singh said,”NGO Empower has taken a great initiative by organising this unique event. All sections of society need to spread awareness about issues faced by special children. Such examples need to be emulated by others so that more resources are generated for the betterment and growth of differently-abled kids.”
Manya Pathak congratulated the organisers for showing sensitivity to the cause of special children. “The event gave a scintillating platform to differently-abled children to showcase their talent. This is praiseworthy”
Proving their mettle with sheer talent, special children enlivened the event with their awe-inspiring performances, which stole the heart of the audience present at the event. Vaibhav Singh, Sahibjit Khaira, Akshay Luthra, and Yesheevardanbir Singh Rathore were the special children who performed. Moreover, the special kids also did a ramp walk which was the highlight of the event. Rotary’s District Governor Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh Ajay Madan and his wife Savita Madan were also present on the occasion. Many senior Rotarians too participated. Rotary also announced an educational programme for children. Expressing his gratitude, Raj Gupta, Founder of Elevate Wellness Club and President of Rotary, Zirakpur said, “I want to thank all the guests and sponsors for their immense contribution. Besides fundraising, our aim was to create awareness in the society to build an understanding and accepting community-integrated well with children who are differently-abled.”

Spring of colors, splash and a lot of creativity – Such a fascinating sight of being filled with colors was seen in the courtyard of Cleopatra Makeover Academy where young students displayed the festival of beauty of colors in a unique color with their art.
A message was also kept for everyone to play safe, hygienic and organic Holi. The occasion was made all the more important by the Creative Color Makeover Workshop which includes tricks to make organic colors at home, easy ways to make colors using flowers, some special fresh and attractive looks for Holi party, pre holi skin care, post holi Organized workshop on skin care.
The fun and spirit of Holi was celebrated in this festival of natural, herbal and a friendly colours, and the festive spirit was in full swing. The youth of City Beautiful were seen taking part in this festival of colors openly and on this occasion young students displayed their creativity through innovation in colorful makers and hair colours.
Different color themes were showcased like Rainbow Colour, Neon Color, Nature Inspired Colours, Ardy Colours, Colors set for the year 2022 by Pentagon and Neon Retro colors theme. Under this preview colorful nails, tattoos and hair couture etc. were also made with different designs which were very attractive and innovative.
Apart from this, an attractive Rangoli activity was organized by this splash of colors, which was thoroughly enjoyed by the students.
On this occasion Richa Agarwal from Cleopatra Makeover Academy said, : “Holi is a festival that we celebrate with fun and enthusiasm by pouring colors on each other. Today through our workshop, we shared how to make organic colors at home and get rid of colors from skin and hair properly and also gave a live demo on it.”
In this workshop, it was also highlighted by beauty expert Harvin Kathuria that how you can make natural colors only from flowers like rose, sunflower, dirty etc.
The workshop also revealed the fact that how people use harsh scrubs on their skin like apricot and walnut scrubs to remove the color and sometimes due to rubbing faster than the scrub, the face becomes stained or the skin loses its moisture. And you also have the problem of rashes and pigmentation on the face, so how can you easily remove the color from your face by using mild scrub daily for 4 or 5 days. Not only will it remove the firm complexion from the face, but your face will glow. If you use two drops of lavender or jasmine oil in a spoonful of jojoba oil without using anything in aromatherapy, your skin related problems will be solved immediately. The tips in the workshop also shared recipes to reverse the ill effects of colors using simple ingredients you can find in your kitchen like Aloe Vera Gel, Almond Oil and Milk etc.
