Uda Aida’s trailer was long waited for! Featuring Neeru Bajwa and Tarsem Jassar for the first time together, the film boasts of several popular faces of Punjabi cinema like Gurpreet Ghuggi, B.N. Sharma and many more.

1. Chemistry between Neeru Bajwa and Tarsem Jassar: As evident from the trailer, Neeru and Tarsem are playing husband-wife in the film – which is in itself, an amazing part! Both are looking apt as desi couple who’s got a lovely boy as their child. The cute duo is trying its best to get their child admitted to a good school (good for them means, an English medium convent school) and their little ‘nonk jhonk’ about achieving this goal is something that makes us anxiously wait for the movie release.

2. The Concept: Just when almost every filmmaker is hell bent on making a wedding-based film with similar characters played by the same actors, the team of Naresh Kathooria, Ksshitij Chaudhary and Rrupaali Gupta thought about weaving magic on silver screen through a concept that’s sure to touch the emotional chords of every Punjabi parent and make them think about the choices they’re making for their kids these days, without of course, compromising on the entertainment quotient of the film! ‘Uda Aida’s’ trailer starts with a bang, making us wonder and laugh at the same time and finally, forcing us to ponder!

3. The Look ‘n’ Feel: The entire look and feel of the film, as guessed through its trailer, is vibrant and heartwarming. The sight of endearing school kids, the teachers, the mix of Hindi, English and Punjabi, gives us a feeling that the film is based on the present-day reality of urban Punjab, that the kids and their parents are going to enjoy equally together. Away from usual family dramas, love triangles and weddings, Uda Aida seems to be a film of an entirely different world that the Punjabi cinema has never touched before.

Birthday With A Bang: Gippy Grewal Releases The Teaser of Manje Bistre 2

One person whose name is sure to get registered in the list of those great Ballewood personalities who contributed a lot in reviving Punjabi cinema and taking it from the pits of ignominy to national recognition, then it has to be Gippy Grewal. The multifaceted star has been tirelessly working round the clock to give something fresh to the Punjabi cinema be it films, music – as actor, director or producer!

Today on his birthday, Gippy Grewal has given us a new surprise in the form of a “teaser” of his much-awaited flick – Manje Bistre 2. The teaser is colorful, hilarious, and gives us an idea that Manje Bistre 2 is going to live up to the expectations! In the teaser, the scene when Gippy’s character has to request for a ‘manja’ (bed) from a ‘gori’ is enough to send us in splits. Another reason to wait for the movie is of course, the fresh pairing of Simi and Gippy, which appears to be really sweet in the moive, as of now!

With the release of ‘Manje Bistre 2’ audience for the first time will see the fresh pairing of Gippy Grewal and Simi Chahal. Besides playing the lead in the movie, Gippy Grewal has also bankrolled the project and worked on the story and screenplay. Baljit Singh Deo who directed the first part has helmed the sequel as well.

A COMIC Book on The Great DARA SINGH Launched

Comic book “Epic Journey of the Great Dara Singh” has been released at the Mumbai Comic Con 2018 on December 22. The comic will present the late wrestler, actor Dara Singh as the real life superhero.

The son of the wrestler, Vindu Dara Singh said in an interview that the comic will focus on some of the lesser known facts about Dara Singh’s childhood, his first stint in “pehlwani” and later years.

“The book will present my father Dara Singh as the real life superhero, who was a world wrestling champion and an inspiration to everyone,” Vindu, who helmed the project,” he said in a statement, adding, “Right from his brand of raw, overpowering aggression inside the wrestling ring to his discipline and humility outside it, the aim is to present the lesser known side of the Rustom-e-Hind to the world.”

‘Bhajjo Veero Ve’ First Impression (Not A Review) : A film that has ‘Script’ as its HERO!

Rhythm Boyz Entertainment and Hayre Omjee Studios has presented a film that made history before its release itself. Bhajjo Veero Ve which is perhaps one of the first films in Punjab which got released on a Saturday has stood out above most films released this year for the sheer brilliance of its script, tight screenplay, impeccable direction and amazing actors that knew what they were supposed to do!

First thing first : The film besides being the first film on Bachelors of Punjab also shines because of the fact that despite not having the default “set of comedians” among its starcast ends up being a blockbusting comedy simply because its written in a very powerful way. Full points to Amberdeep for coming up with an ‘out-of-the-box’ idea and weaving it so perfectly within a two-hour film. Equal amount of gratitude to the producers for bankrolling a novel idea and presenting it before the audience without having any ‘star’ as a hero. Well, with a reasonably good actor like Amberdeep in the lead and such a stupendous storyline, there wasn’t a need of star in a movie anyways.

That being said, Amberdeep seems to have found his own niche in Punjabi cinema now. He is your hero who who isn’t a star, but an actor. In fact, it’s not just Amberdeep but every actor in the film fits in their character like hand in a glove. The best part is that the heroine – Simi Chahal – also manages to find her strong foothold in a clearly male-dominated film. She isn’t there to just add to the glamour factor! Her role is pivotal to move the story forward and the chirpy actress amuses the audience with her cute expressions and dialogues.

However, the surprise package comes in the form of Guggu Gill – who you’d see in his old-avatar after a long time. Daunting, dignified, so very imposing, Guggu Gill, who turns out to be a bandit ‘Mama’ of our hero, steals the show with not just his physical persona but also leaves a strong impression otherwise.

Overall, Bhajjo Veero Ve is a film that proves that script is the actual hero of the film! A totally ‘hatke’ film, such films should be made more often and encouraged. A Complete family entertainer with wonderful music, it’s a must-watch!

‘Sorry Sorry’ – Hobby Dhaliwal’s Dialogue In Bhajjo Veero Ve Is The New Talk Of The Town

When almost every filmmaker in Punjab is busy making a film on a wedding theme, there are thankfully, some producers who thought of making a film on ‘shadaas’ (bachelors) too! Well these producers are none other than Karaj Gill (Rhythm Boyz Entertainment) and Talwinder Hayre (Hayre Omjee Studios) who are coming up with a film titled ‘Bhajjo Veero Ve’ on 14th of December.

Written and directed by ace script writer Amberdeep, Bhajjo Veero Ve’s trailer went viral as soon as it was released last month. Though the trailer provides several one-liners that can send one in splits yet one-liner that has stood out is by Hobby Dhaliwal who plays the role of Simi Chahal’s (the leading lady of the film) father. That dialogue is nothing but just two words – ‘Sorry Sorry’ which you can hear between 72 seconds and 90 seconds in the trailer.

Saak (2019): Mandy Takhar To Play Another Strong Character

Mandy Takhar and Joban Preet will be seen together as the lead pair of an upcoming Punjabi film titled SAAK.

Slated to get released on June 7, 2019 the first look of the movie was shared a few days ago by Mandy Takhar on the social media. The shoot of the film has already been started in Abohar, Punjab. At the Mahurat shot, the leading lady said, “I always try to do the characters in which I can push my limits and show versatility as an actor. When, I was offered this film I could not resist even once. My character is very strong and I am looking forward to playing this on screen. I just hope people will love this film in the same way as they always have loved my work.”

Apart from Mandy and Joban, Mukul Dev, Rupinder Rupi, Mahabir Bhullar, Dilawar Sidhu, Sonpreet Jawanda, Deep Brar will also be seen playing pivotal roles. Kamaljeet Singh has written the story and will direct this film. Jatinder Jay Minhas and Rupinder Minhas will produce the whole project. This film is the presentation of Minhas Films Ltd in association with Minhas Lawyers LLP, Jatinder Jay Minhas and Rupinder Minhas.

EXCLUSIVE: Deep Sidhu Will Now Be Seen As a Sportsman In SAADE AALE

Deep Sidhu, who has time and again proved that he’s not just a good-looking actor but also a very talented one, threw a surprise today when he gave us this news that he shall be seen as a Kabaddi Player in his next film titled SAADE AALE. So, after playing a suave cop in Rang Panjab, it’ll be interesting to see how smoothly Deep transitions into a village boy.

SAADE AALE which is slated to get released on 8th February 2019 will be directed by Jatinder Mauhar, the guy who had directed critically-acclaimed Sikander in 2013. It is bankrolled by Bathinde Wale Bai Films in association with Kuknoos Films.

Talking about the film Deep Sidhu told Iampunjaabi, “In Saade Aale, I am playing a sportsman named Manjit, who’s a captain of his village Kabaddi team. Though this film has its backdrop as Kabaddi but Kabaddi isn’t the main theme. It’s about Sportsmanship. It’s about proving the fact that sportsmen are beyond hatred and rivalry.”

Naukar Vahuti Da: Binnu Dhillon And Kavita Kaushik Come Back Together In 2019

Binnu Dhillon and Kavita Kaushik’s cute yet mature jodi won the hearts of Punjabis across the world when they featured together for the first time in ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyaan (2017). Rang Panjab: An Exciting Tale Of A Punjabi Police Officer’s Life

Ever since media received the news that Deep Sidhu, who performed an unforgettable role as ‘Jora’ in Jora 10 Numbaria, is coming up with his new flick RANG PANJAB, hype and expectations went soaring high – not just among us, the media persons, but also among the Punjabi audience that’s craving for some meaningful content from our makers. To know whether Deep Sidhu – the protagonist, Rakesh Mehta – the director, Gurpreet Bhullar – the writer, Mandeep Singh Sidhu/Raj Kundra – producers, and the rest of the team were able to fulfill our expectations or not, read on!

RANG PANJAB is a story of a boy-next-door whose life has been never smooth and destiny puts him through several unpleasant tests. His tumultous life, however, doesn’t stop him from becoming an officer in Punjab Police and hence ensues a series of twists and turns revealing the darkest secrets of our political and police system which make Rang Panjab, truly an exciting feature film to watch.

The pace is swift, some scenes are breathtakingly shot, the background music (Sunny Bawra & Inder Bawra), the songs (credit goes to lyricists like Amardeep Singh Gill and singer Sai Sultan for the title track which truly touches the soul), the dialogues (Amardeep Singh Gill) deserving of whistles and thunderous applause and so much more, Rang Panjab shall definitely provide you with an enigmatic cinematic experience with its edge-of-the-seat storyline and remarkable performances.

Talking about the performances, Deep Sidhu has once again proved that he’s an actor par excellence especially when it comes to the intense scenes. However he needs to improve a bit more when it comes to romantic scenes. Kartar Cheema has given one of the best performances of his life. He truly fits in the role of an antagonist. Hobby Dhaliwal is first-rate as usual and Reena Rai is pretty and all that, but she doesn’t really get a chance to prove her acting prowess through this film.

Our only complaint is that the suspense was ‘figure-outable’. The writer should’ve been more clever, perhaps!

Overall, Rang Panjab is a brilliant effort by the whole team that provides full on entertainment. Also, it is one of those rare films that shows a Punjabi Police Officer in a positive light. So book your tickets for Rang Panjab this weekend and gear up for fun-filled weekend.
