‘The Economic DNA of Bharat’ Authored by Dr Monica B. Sood Decodes Bharat’s Civilizational Economic Code for ‘Viksit Bharat-2047’

Chandigarh, August 27, 2026: What if Bharat’s remarkable ability to survive, rebuild, reinvent and rise is not merely the consequence of history, but the expression of a deeper civilisational code? This is the defining proposition of ‘The Economic DNA of Bharat’, authored by Dr. Monica B. Sood and published by Simon & Schuster India. The book moves beyond the conventional vocabulary of GDP, budgets, fiscal deficits and growth rates to examine a more fundamental question: What has and is making Bharat economically robust?

Sharing details about her book with a group of journalists here during a media interaction, Dr Monica B Sood who is an established Ayurveda expert & entrepreneur, political commentator & thought leader informed that her book spans ten chapters, under which she has connected Bharat’s civilisational past with its economic present and future, presenting a distinctive intellectual roadmap for understanding the nation’s transformation towards 2047.

Dr Sood said, “The Central concept of ‘DNA’ is not merely a metaphor but the intellectual framework through which I have examined Bharat’s economic journey. Governments, technologies, currencies, markets and economic models may change, but the civilisational DNA of Bharat endures.”

According to Dr. Sood, this enduring DNA can be understood through three defining impulses: D—Dharma, N—Nirman, and A—Atmanirbharta. These represent a commitment to values, nation-building, and self-reliance.

Notably, the book features a Foreword by Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of Law and Justice, and carries endorsements and messages from eminent public figures, including Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab; Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs; Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel, Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Dairying and Animal Husbandry; and Jatinder Pal Malhotra, among others.

In reply to a question, Dr Sood, said that the book argues that enterprise, knowledge, community, resilience, innovation, inclusion, ethical prosperity and strategic autonomy have repeatedly found new expressions throughout Bharat’s history.

She said that ancient Bharat expressed these instincts through sophisticated systems of maritime trade and commerce, agriculture, medicine, knowledge, governance and community networks.

“Contemporary Bharat expresses them through digital public infrastructure, entrepreneurship, indigenous manufacturing, technological innovation, financial inclusion, defence capabilities, start-ups and strategic autonomy.”

Reflecting on the exploration of economics as national psychology in the book, Dr Sood argued that economies are shaped not only by capital, labour, productivity and public policy, but also by human behaviour—what societies value, save, spend, build, share and innovate, and what they regard as prosperity.

The book therefore occupies an unusual intellectual intersection of economics, history, psychology, civilisation, public policy and future studies. It presents Bharat not merely as an economic system, but as a civilisational economic personality, offering a framework to understand its journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047.

For Dr Sood, this intellectual inquiry also has deeply personal roots. She traces much of her curiosity about economics, society, national development and Bharat’s place in the world to the intellectual influence of her late father, Paramjit Kumar. His ideas and writings encouraged her to look beyond immediate economic events and examine the deeper forces shaping nations and societies. His intellectual legacy, including the ideas of Fiscal Quantum and Integral Capitalism, became an important strand in her own search for understanding Bharat’s economic character.

“GDP can tell us how fast Bharat is growing. Economic DNA attempts to understand why Bharat keeps finding a way to rise,” concluded Dr. Sood.

Censor Board Blocks Amrinder Gill’s Chal Mera Putt 4 in India Over Pakistani Cast Concerns

In an unexpected development, Chal Mera Putt 4, starring Punjabi superstar Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal, will not see a theatrical release in India. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly declined to grant the film clearance for release.

While the board has not officially stated its reasons, the decision comes amid rising tensions surrounding the inclusion of Pakistani artists in Indian productions. Just weeks ago, Sardaar Ji 3 sparked controversy over the casting of Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, igniting nationwide debate.

The Chal Mera Putt franchise has previously featured celebrated Pakistani comedians such as Iftikhar Thakur, Nasir Chinyoti, and Akram Udas — a cross-border collaboration that earned it both praise and scrutiny. Although the cast of the fourth part has not been officially confirmed and no trailer has been released, speculation is rife that Pakistani involvement may have played a role in the film being denied certification.

Produced by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment, Chal Mera Putt 4 was expected to continue the emotional comedy and cross-cultural connection that defined its earlier chapters. However, with the CBFC’s refusal, the film’s release in India now hangs in the balance.M

ore clarity is awaited from the filmmakers regarding the next steps.

Pakistani actor Iftikhar Thakur’s recent share of Amrinder Gill’s upcoming Punjabi movie Chal Mera Putt 4’s poster has created buzz across the industry. His shift in tone has sparked widespread speculation: Is Thakur now regretful of his earlier anti-India statements, under pressure, or simply staying relevant in the entertainment circuit? Either way, the timing couldn’t be more strategic, with the film’s official poster just dropping and excitement brewing among fans.

What We Know About Chal Mera Putt 4

Directed by Janjot Singh and written by Rakesh Dhawan, the film is produced under the banner of Rhythm Boyz Entertainment. Lead actors Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal are set to return, continuing the emotional and humorous saga of cross-border friendship that made the franchise so beloved.

Although only the poster has been released so far, the anticipation for the fourth installment is already sky-high. The film is slated to hit theatres on 1st August 2025.

The Cross-Border Casting Question

The first three parts of the franchise prominently featured Pakistani actors including Iftikhar Thakur, Nasir Chinyoti, and Akram Udhas. However, after the controversy involving Diljit Dosanjh and Pakistani actress Hania Aamir during the making of Sardaarji 3—which was ultimately barred from release in India—the big question remains: Will Chal Mera Putt 4 feature any Pakistani actors?

If yes, will it be allowed to release in Indian theatres? Or will it face the same fate as Sardaarji 3, which only saw international release due to its cross-border casting?

Iftikhar Thakur’s Instagram post has already stirred debate, with users questioning his apparent U-turn. Some call it a softening of stance, while others see it as a tactical move to stay in the limelight.

With tensions still simmering and the entertainment industry caught in the crossfire, Chal Mera Putt 4 may turn out to be more than just another comedy-drama—it could be a cultural moment in itself.

Stay tuned for more updates as the trailer drops and the casting list is officially confirmed.
