Gippy Grewal has always been a proud Punjabi who is deep-rooted in our rich culture and heritage, and his recent visit to one of the most important sites of the Sikh religion, Nankana Sahib stands testament to the same.
Nankana Sahib is a city and capital of Nankana Sahib District in the Punjab province of Pakistan.
It is named after the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak, who was born in the city and first began preaching here.
Upon his arrival in Pakistan, Grewal paid homage at Nankana Sahib and then moved back to Lahore. He even shared a sneak-peak of his visit on his social media portals. Not even this, he also thanked a few people regarding his visit including Imran Khan and Captain Amrinder Singh amongst others.
According to sources, Grewal will also be visiting Gurudwara Panja Sahib during his Pakistan trip. Not only this, his itinerary also includes a tour of Lahore and Islamabad and the place of his forefathers, which they left in 1947.
Talking about Gippy Grewal’s upcoming Punjabi movie, he’s these days promoting his film Ik Sandhu Hunda Si which will release on 28th February 2020.
The film will be directed by Rakesh Mehta and produced by Bally Singh Kakkar along with Gippy Grewal himself. The highlight of Ik Sandhu Hunda Si is action, which is done by Sham Kaushal, famous Bollywood veteran action director.
Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’s pre-teaser and teaser are already out. Now its first song ‘Galib’ can be out any day. Ik Sandhu Hunda Si will also mark the debut Bollywood actress and model Neha Sharma as an actress in Punjabi cinema.

The song’s vocals have been given by the lead hero Ammy Virk himself while its music is composed by B Praak. As far as the beautiful lyrics are concerned, they’re written by none other than the ace song-writer Jaani.
The splendid cinematography of Jaan Deyan Ge is one of the highlights of the video that captures the interiors of Punjab very well. The song’s lyrics like “Padhan layi Quran Deyan Ge” hints at the movie being an inter-religion (Sikh-muslim) love story.
The movie Sufna releases on 14th February 2020, starring Ammy Virk and Tania in the lead. It is directed by Jagdeep Sidhu and produced by a new production house named Panj Paani Films.
While ‘Jaan Deyan Ge’ was released today, Sufna’s other song Qubool A was rolled out a few days ago, featuring Tania, is receiving a stupendous response from the Punjabi audience worldwide. People are loving the chemistry between Ammy Virk and Tania.
It may be recalled that Tania and Ammy Virk have already worked before in 2018’s blockbuster ‘Qismat’. But while in Qismat, it was Sargun Mehta who was the female lead and Tania, the second lead – in Sufna, Tania has grabbed the part of Ammy’s heroine.
Apart from Qismat, Tania has also worked with another Ammy Virk movie titled ‘Guddiyan Patole’. In Guddiyan Patole, Ammy Virk was a producer though.

Upcoming Punjabi Movie Sufna Is A Part of Qismat Series?
Update: Recently the director of Sufna – Jagdeep Sidhu shared a post of a film’s title poster which was backed by the actor Ammy Virk as well. Ammy and Jagdeep who have worked for seven films now together, generally share posts at the same time related to their common movies together.
The image that Jagdeep Sidhu shared was that of the title of a new Punjabi movie called ‘Lekh’ which he mentioned will release on 18th September – the same date when earlier this director-actor duo announced Qismat 2 with Sargun Mehta.
Therefore one is curious to know whether Lekh is a completely new movie or Qismat renamed. But the point to note is that while sharing that post Ammy Virk and Jagdeep Sidhu also mentioned the name of SUFNA.
So, that confirms that SUFNA starring Ammy Virk and Tania is actually a part of a series that begun with Qismat.
Here we would also like to mention that while Qismat was produced by Shri Narottam Ji Productions, Sufna is being produced by another production house altogether named Panj Paani Films.
Sufna’s First Song ‘Qubool A’ Released
‘January 11, 2020: The first song of Sufna was released today by the makers which features Tania in it. Interestingly, the makers decided to give Tania all the limelight instead of introducing the lead hero’s character first. (which generally happens in most Punjabi movies’ promotions.)
Qubool A’, is a pure love ballad having a Sufi touch to both the lyrics and the music.
Tania is absolutely stunning in a simple look in the video. Both the choreography and cinematography of Qubool A is amazing, making Qubool A an absolute treat for the eyes!
Qubool A has been sung by the duo of Hashmat Sultana, while its lyrics have been written by Jaani and B Praak has given its music.

Jaan Deyan Ge has been beautifully sung by Ammy Virk while its music has been given by ace music director B Praak. The well-meaning lyrics of this song are written by Jaani.

Channa Mereya (2017), Sajjan Singh Rangroot (2018), and High End Yaariyaan (2019) fame director, Pankaj Verma is now back with another heart – touching romantic drama movie, Jind Meriye which is all set to release this Friday. Batra has not only directed the movie, but has also produced and written it. Jind Meriye is also produced by Ashu Munish Sahni and Aniket Kawade.
With singer-turned-actor, Parmish Verma and Punjabi actress, Sonam Bajwa in the lead roles, Jind Meriye promises to bring to silver screen, a cute and romantic love story.
The storyline is based on a young boy named Yaadi who believes in gaining quick success and luxuries through shortcuts. Yaadi eventually falls in love with Rehmat who is an innocent and focused girl.
While their love blooms during their college days, Rehmat’s father starts disliking Yaadi which leads Rehmat to move to England where her father chooses a guy for her named Yuvi, who has a golden heart. Meanwhile, Yaadi falls into drug dealings and joins a mafia group in England. He gets all the luxuries that he desires for, but loneliness still grips him as realizes the absence of Rehmat in his life, and the story further unfolds.

1. Binnu Dhillon:
One of the most-loved actors of the Punjabi film industry, Binnu Dhillon has been surpassing benchmarks with each passing day.
Hailing his roots from Sangrur, Punjab, Dhillon was born with an avid interest in the entertainment industry. He took the plunge as a Bhangra performer and had an opportunity to perform at the Indian Festivals in Germany and the UK.
Dhillon also appeared in various theater plays and television serials before he entered the film industry.
It was only in 2007 when he properly entered the Punjab film industry.
While he was mostly seen in multi-starrer movies in supporting roles, the Punjabi audiences kept asking for more which got him movies like ‘Naughty Jatts’, ‘Channo Kamali Yaar Di’ and ‘Vekh Baraatan Challiyan’ wherein he was seen playing the lead roles that have been critically acclaimed.
2. Ranjit Bawa: Singer – turned – actor, Ranjit Bawa rose to fame from his single “Jatt Di Akal” which broke many Punjabi records across the globe.
Bawa eventually ventured into the Punjabi film industry. He bagged his first role in Ballewood with Priyanka Chopra’s first Punjabi production venture ‘Sarvann’ wherein he was seeing playing a pivotal supporting role.
With the passage of time, he received an array of offers for lead roles such as Toofan Singh.
3. Ammy Virk:Another singer – turned – actor from the Punjabi entertainment industry, Ammy Virk started his career with a single track which received love and appreciation from Punjabis from across the globe.
Later on, he did other songs including “Yaar Amli” and “Jatt Da Sahara” which popularized him in the Punjabi music industry globally. His first album “Jattizm” was released in 2013 which got the “Best Album of The Year” award in PTC Music Awards.
His most popular song, “Qismat” which was released in 2017 also led to the movie ‘Qismat’ starring Sargun Mehta. Virk’s initial movies like Angrej and Ardaas say him in supporting roles. However, he later signed up for lead roles in blockbuster movies like Bambukaat and Qismat, to name a few.

Ever since then, he has got many offers to enact as the protagonist of the movie. Some of such movies include Kala Shah Kala starring Binnu Dhillon and Sargun Mehta, and Gidarh Singhi starring Rubina Bajwa.
5. Kulwinder Billa: Last but not the least; Kulwinder Billa is another singer – turned – actor who has been showered with unconditional support and appreciation for his acting acumen.
He started his singing career with the albums “Koi Khaas” and “Punjab”, whereas, he started his acting career with Subedar Joginder Singh in which he was seen playing the role of Ajaib Singh (Sipahi).
He later made his debut as a lead actor with film Parahuna starring Wamiqa Gabbi. The movie was released in 2018.

Punjabi film director, Ksshitij Choudhary who is known for his films such as Jatts In Golmaal, Mr & Mrs 420 and Yaara O Dildaara to name a few, is back with a bang with his directorial project, ‘Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gya’.
The movie was initially scheduled to release on November 29, 2019, but as it is often said, ‘good things take time!’ even this movie got delayed owing to various reasons.
Now the release date of Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gaya is May 29, 2020.
The movie will prove to be the second film of Sargun Mehta and Gurnam Bhullar together on the silver screen.
They were earlier seen in Indian-Punjabi drama film, Surkhi Bindi.
However, while there is quite some time for Sohreyan Da Pind Aa Gya to hit the silver screen, the duo is already winning hearts of the Punjabi audiences from across the globe, and their recent dance video on social media stands testament to the same.

A well-knit and engaging story of a young man from Punjab, Zakhmi highlights the trials and tribulations of everyday life and how a positive approach towards life can certainly turn the tables.
Written and directed by Inderpal Singh, who has earlier given runaway success movies like Dakuan Da Munda (2018) and DSP Dev (2019) to the Punjabi film industry, Zakhmi promises to bring to the silver screen a light-hearted yet completely relatable story of every young man in our country.
Singh dons various hats including that of an actor, writer, and director.
Zakhmi stars Dev Kharoud in the lead role parallel to Anchal Singh who will be marking her debut in the Punjabi film industry with this movie.
Dev Kharoud recently shared the news of the trailer release on his Instagram profile wherein he shared the poster of the movie in which he is seen in a complete ‘family man’ avatar, standing beside his lady and letting his daughter sit on the shoulder.
This poster is a complete just to the sub-title of the movie that reads ‘Family Man’.
He also mentioned in his post that the trailer which was earlier scheduled to release at 9 am will now be released at 2 pm owing to some technical glitch.
Dev Kharoud is one of the most competent actors in Punjabi film industry and Zakhmi is his first collaboration with Binnu Dhillon, another talented actor from our industry.
Interestingly, in one of the interviews, Dev Kharoud had mentioned that Binnu Dhillon is among his favorite actors from the industry.
So, it is indeed a happy news that the duo has collaborated for this Zakhmi, even though Binnu is not a fellow-actor, but a producer of this film.
