Dusshehra – the festival preceding the biggest festival of lights in India – Diwali, turned out to be the blackest day in the history of Punjab yesterday with two trains ruthlessly mowing down innocent people watching the Ravana effigy burning at Joda Phatak area of Choura Bazar.

While we are not sure whom to blame really for this tragedy, all we can say is that this is the moment to stay united and help as much as possible through whatever means we can. Even our Punjabi film fraternity is not left behind urging people to donate blood, providing helpline numbers and most importantly, offering condolences to the families of deceased.

Jassie Gill made the announcement of the film’s title on his social media today and quenched the curiosity of his fans, who were longing to see him in a fresh Punjabi film after his outing in Bollywood (Happy Phir Bhaag Jaayegi.) Jassie Gill had also impressed earlier this year with his performance as ‘Radha’ in Mr and Mrs 420 returns.

As far as Ninja is concerned, this is going to be his second film after Channa Mereya – the much acclaimed remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’. Along with Payal Rajput, Ninja stole the hearts of Punjabi audience with his tremendous acting. 

Just like Gill, Ranjit Bawa was last seen in Mr and Mrs 420 Returns too wherein he effortlessly played the role of a drug-addict. Even though it was just a comedy film, Bawa’s role was complex and he performed it exceedingly well. 

A few days ago the grapevine also suggested that Diamond famed Gurnam Bhullar will also star in High-End Yaariyaan. Let’s see what all surprises Pankaj Batra has in store for all of us. 

The film will be produced by Pankaj Batra Films, Pitaara Talkies and Speed Records and will get released on 22nd February. From the first poster, we get a feeling that High-End Yaariyaan is going to be a story based on the bonding between three friends. Punjab’s Dignitaries Land At The Sets Of Roshan Prince’s ‘Munda Faridkotia’

Roshan Prince’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Munda Faridkotia’ produced by Daljeet Thind and Monty Sikka of Dalmora Films Pvt. Ltd., is in the news right since the first day of its shoot. The movie is from the genre of romantic comedy and is being helmed by Mandeep Singh Chahal, while the project manager is Amrit Pal Sran. 

Roshan Prince’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Munda Faridkotia’ produced by Daljeet Thind and Monty Sikka of Dalmora Films Pvt. Ltd., is in the news right since the first day of its shoot. The movie is from the genre of romantic comedy and is being helmed by Mandeep Singh Chahal, while the project manager is Amrit Pal Sran. 

Currently being shot at Malerkotla, Munda Faridkotia’s sets were today graced by the presence of two prominent personalities of Punjab – Cabinet Minister Razia Sultana (Higher Education and Public Health – Water Supply and Sanitation) and Mr. Mohammad Mustafa, DGP/STF. The two dignitaries passed on their congratulatory messages to Roshan Prince and the entire team of Munda Faridkotia along with getting clicked with the crew.

Munda Faridkotia’s lead actresses are Sharan Kaur and Navpreet Banga. Other starcast includes the names like  Mukul Dev, Gurmeet Sajan, B.N Sharma, Karamjit Anmol, Hobby Dhaliwal, Rupinder Rupi and many more. The film’s shoot will take place in Faridkot, Malerkotla and Doraha. 

An out and out comedy, this film has been 70% shot and is scheduled for release in 2019.

First time in the last two years, 2019 will witness the clash between two much – awaited Ballewood movies!

The memory tracing back to 2016 when we all movie lovers faced a serious dilemma of whether to watch ‘Love Punjab’ or ‘Ardaas’ has still not faded, and the history is all set to repeat itself on April 12, 2019 with Manje Bistre 2 and another untitled film (a little birdie on the sets revealed it’s a BIG one) from the makers of super-successful films – Mr and Mrs 420 series, scheduled to be released on the same day.

Written by Gippy Grewal and directed by Baljit Singh Deo, Manje Bistre 2 will be the sequel to the one of the most earning Ballewood movies in the box office, Manje Bistre (2017). The movie stars Simi Chahal instead of Sonam Bajwa and is being produced under the banner of Humble Motion Pictures. A family drama movie, the plot of Manje Bistre 2 revolves around the rich culture of Punjab.

On the contrary, the yet untitled project to be released on the same day is reportedly, based on a controversial issue – the exact nature of which isn’t yet revealed. Produced by Rrupaali Gupta of Friday Russh Motion Pictures, who is coming up with another film ‘Ooda Aida’, starring Neeru Bajwa and Tarsem Jassar, we can safely assume the film will be strong enough to give competition to Gippy’s Manje Bistre 2. 

With both the movies releasing on the same date, the big question is: which of the two will become an immortal gem of the Ballewood industry? Let’s wait & watch!

Popular singer Rajvir Jawandha made his debut this year in a supporting role in SJS. From there he got recognition from the film fraternity which led him to bagging his debut project ‘Mahi Ve’ as the lead. The shooting of ‘Mahi Ve’ has just begun.

In August Gurnam Bhullar shared the news of making his debut in Punjabi cinema with ‘Surkhi Bindi’ opposite Sonam Bajwa, and now he has shared the poster of his second project ‘Vilaiti Yantra’. Gurnam Bhullar will be sharing the screen space with Aman Sandhu in the movie.

Not only this, he’s also featuring along with Ninja, Jassie Gill and Ranjit Bawa in a yet untitled project – a Pankaj Batra’s maiden production.

Being directed by Ranjit Bal, the movie’s producer is Naresh Singla. Karan Sandhu and Neeraj Kumar are the scriptwriters. The shooting of the same has already gone on the floors; but the release date is yet kept under the wrap.

Mar Gaye Oye Loko Actress Sapna Pabbi Speaks About Sexual Harrassment

Sapna Pabbi, a Bollywood actress who recently made her debut in Punjabi film ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’ starring Gippy Grewal in the lead role, recently came out in support of actress Tanushree Dutta, who has accused Nana Patekar of sexual abuse. Pabbi talked about the sexual harrassment that she had to face during a shoot in a long Instagram post.
Sapna Pabbi, a Bollywood actress who recently made her debut in Punjabi film ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’ starring Gippy Grewal in the lead role, recently came out in support of actress Tanushree Dutta, who has accused Nana Patekar of sexual abuse. Pabbi talked about the sexual harrassment that she had to face during a shoot in a long Instagram post.
Recalling the incident, she said that she was forced into wearing an uncomfortable bikini for several hours during a dance sequence which resulted in agonising chest pain. She insisted on removing the underwires of the bikini, but the (female) stylist dismissed her request.

In a long Instagram post, Pabbi expressed her disappointment at a female colleague who she said colluded with the male directors. “Sadly I have been disappointed with the way some of these women (and others within my working environment) have remained absent during such traumatic and difficult situations and were merely witnessing, if not taking advantage, themselves,” she wrote.

“If we do not support our girls, how can we expect our male colleagues to do so? I have witnessed women from several professional industries bully other women to secure their own position and accelerate their image in the eyes of their male peers,” she added.

The next day, when she was physically slow at work due to pain, the male directors told her that she was becoming too difficult to work with and accused her of throwing tantrums about a ‘poxy bra’. “It is just a bra, Sapna!”, they said.

Pabbi added, “I was judged for complaining about a bra by a man; however it was a fellow sister, the one who I reached out to in confidence for support, that stabbed [me] in the back. Can we please stop doing this to each other please? offices, schools, shooting sets everywhere!”.

Recently, Bollywood Actress Tanushree Dutta filed a complaint against Nana Patekar for sexual abuse. However, Nana Patekar and Vivek Agnihotri have denied all the allegations made against her.

Setting off couple goals right since their first poster was out, this duo has amused the audience with their innocent chemistry and has been garnering a lot of appreciation. The first poster showed the two twinning in the hue of red on the poster of AFSAR, a unique story of Patwaris and Kanugos. 

Even the trailer of the movie fetched a lot of praise for the lead pair with both Tarsem Jassar and Nimrat Khaira looking adorable together.

Even offsets, during the promotions, the two look really lovely in each other’s company. Twinning in white, Nimrat Khaira took it to her social media handle to post the picture of the two sharing smiles and the same color of clothes. 

In the front Nimrat Khaira looked very pretty in an embroidered white suit, while Tarsem Jassar sported a plain white shirt. 

Produced by Nadar Films and Vehli Janta Films,  ‘Afsar’ is a romantic comedy. The story is about a guy who has been asked to step down from his official rank of ‘Kanugo’ to the much lower one – Patwari, if he wants to marry the love of his life. Along with Tarsem Jassar and Nimrat Khaira, the movie stars Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol, Rana Jung Bahadur and Pukhraj Bhalla.
