Punjabi singer and actor Gagan Kokri along with another Punjabi artiste Harsimran did some applause-worthy humanitarian work to help out the victims of Australian Bushfire that wreaked havoc in the continent-country few weeks ago. 

 While the world-over celebrities, social activists, politicians and even common public are doing their bit to help people as well as affected animals during the recent Australian wild bushfire, Australia-based Punjabi singer and actor Gagan Kokri also came forward to contribute towards the cause. 

Along with Kokri, singer Harsimran also became a part of generating funds for the victims of Australian wildfire. The duo of Gagan Kokri and Harsimran actually performed live for a fund-raising event in the state of Victoria in Australia. 

From this fund-raising live concert, these Punjabi singers were able to manage a huge sum of $54,123. The proceeds of this event will go towards the rehabilitation of over 2000 houses that got damaged in the bushfire. 

It may be recalled that the Australian Bushfire didn’t just affect the human beings and their properties but killed more than 50 crore wild animals that got charred to death in this natural calamity. 

While sharing a photo of the fund-raising event amount cheque, Gagan Kokri thanked the citizens of Melbourne for coming to watch their event which led towards a noble contribution. 

In his Instagram post, Kokri said,

“Here u go ???? Thanx to all the INDIAN COMMUNITY of MELBOURNE ???? it’s $54,213 from BUSHFIRE RELIEF CONCERT for BUSHFIRE VICTIMS and its all coz of you ???? TUHADA sab da boht boht dhanwaad and I hope tuhanu sab nu parmaatma boht sukhi rakhe ????

On the other hand, Harsimran also penned down a heartfelt note before his live performance:

Jagdeep Sidhu, who is one of the star directors of Punjabi cinema – having given super-successful films like Shadaa and Qismat, is now all set for his next Punjabi movie in 2020 called ‘Sufna’. Recently his comments on Deepika Padukone’s ‘Chhapaak’ received enormous appreciation from fans. 

While today Ammy Virk and Tania’s Sufna’s first song was released by the makers, the director of the movie Jagdeep Sidhu made sure to also express his opinion on the latest Bollywood movie Chhapaak starring Deepika Padukone and based on the life of an acid-attack survivor. 

Jagdeep Sidhu shared a photo collage of Deepika Padukone along with Laxmi Agarwal and director Meghna Gulazar and wrote, “please watch chhapak… it will awake ur humanity”.

Chhapaak is based on the life of the acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal, in which Deepika played the protagonist. 

Jagdeep Sidhu’s Sufna on the other hand, is a romantic film that’s going to release on 14th February. Starring Ammy Virk and Tania in the lead, the first song of the movie, Qubool A was released today. 

The film is produced by Panj Paani Films.

The teaser of Ik Sandhu Hunda Si has been released by Humble Motion pictures today and starring Gippy Grewal in the lead, the film is directed by Rakesh Mehta. Here’s our review:

After hooking up the audience with the ‘pre-teaser’, the team of Ik Sandhu Hunda Si – Gippy Grewal and Humble Motion Pictures’ first Punjabi movie in 2020 –  have doled out its Teaser now, which has many impressive elements in it to grip the audience’s attention further and make them curious about the film, in general. 

Ik Sandhu Hunda Si Releases On 28th February 2020

Depicting the life of a student named ‘Sandhu’, this Rakesh Mehta directorial seems to be a proper action thriller that has a meaningful content to back it. The teaser shows that the lead character has some past love story which has made him fiercely strong to protect his loved ones at any cost. 

The tagline: “Eh kahani kalli Sandhu de pyaar di hi nahi yaari di vi hai.. duniya dekhugi‬” also hints at “friendship” being a strong theme of the movie as well. 

The teaser is sleek and fully action-packed. The action director of the film is Sham Kaushal, who is a well-known action director in Bollywood and also happens to be actor Vicky Kaushal’s father.

Brilliantly edited, Ik Sandhu Hunda Si’s teaser has all the potential to hold the audience attention till its trailer’s release.

A glimpse of the heroine Neha Sharma in the teaser gives an impression that even the female lead isn’t added in the movie just as a glamour-quotient but in fact, has some very strong role in it.

Jassie Gill, who’s promoting his upcoming Hindi Movie with Kangana Ranaut titled ‘Panga’, was recently caught by renowed anchor and singer Satinder Satti in her interview show.

Jassie Gill is a big name in both the music and film industry of Punjab. The man behind songs like Lancer, Laden, Bapu Jimidar, Allah Ve and several others has also appeared in Punjabi movies as a male lead.

His most notable Punjabi movies are High End Yaarian and Mr and Mrs 420 series.

But Jassie Gill is in the news lately for his upcoming Bollywood movie, Panga, with none other than the top heroine of Hindi film industry and national award winner, Kangana Ranaut.

Recently during its promotions, Jassie Gill appeared on a TV channel wherein Satinder Satti interviewed him.

In one of the rapid fire questions that were thrown at him, Satinder asked him to give a word for Gippy Grewal.

Jassie Gill’s reply to her on being asked about Gippy Grewal was “pure businessman”.

Now we’ll have to wait and watch as to in which context exactly Jassie Gill defined Gippy Grewal with this term but one thing that we can say for sure looking at the promo of Satinder Satti’s new interview show is that the entire episode is going to be a lot of fun.

Both Satti and Jassie seem to have gelled perfectly with each other.

Sufna starring Ammy Virk and Tania in the lead roles is an upcoming Punjabi romantic movie that releases on Valentine’s Day i.e. 14th February 2020.

Ammy Virk, who makes sure to give something special to his fans, whether it’s his music or movies, seems to be really pepped about his upcoming Punjabi movie Sufna in which he will star as the love interest of Tania for the first time.

Though Ammy Virk has worked with Tania earlier in Qismat which released in September 2018, but in that film, Tania played the second lead and Sargun Mehta was film’s main female lead.

Now when the audience was awaiting the some news on Qismat’s sequel, Ammy Virk and Qismat and Sufna’s director, Jagdeep Sidhu dropped another news for his fans which left them confused a bit.

Ammy Virk and Jagdeep Sidhu shared an image with the name of another film titled ‘Lekh’ a few days ago – Rreleasing on 18^th September 2020 – the same date when Qismat 2’s was scheduled to release.

Anyways, now whether Lekh is a completely new movie or Qismat renamed, is something that’ll be revealed later. But while sharing that post Ammy Virk and Jagdeep Sidhu also mentioned the name of SUFNA.

In fact, they wrote that after ‘Qismat and Sufna, Lekh is a new film in the “series”’. (Read Ammy’s Instagram post here)

So, that confirms that SUFNA starring Ammy Virk and Tania is actually a part of a series that begun with Qismat.

Here we would also like to mention that while Qismat was produced by Shri Narottam Ji Productions, Sufna is being produced by another production house altogether named Panj Paani Films.

The writer and director of Sufna will be Jagdeep Sidhu.

Shahid Kapoor, who’s been shooting for his upcoming Bollywood movie, Jersey in Chandigarh, Mohali has been reportedly badly injured at PCA Stadium. 

For past few weeks, Shahid Kapoor has been shooting in Punjab for the role of his upcoming Bollywood movie, Jersey which is the Hindi remake of a South-Indian film by the same and based on the life of cricketer.

In the same movie, his father and versatile actor Pankaj Kapoor is also featuring as his cricket coach. While the duo was shooting in Chandigarh, their Punjabi fans were really excited and meeting them on the sets of Jersey quite often.

However, according to some reports, Shahid Kapoor got badly injured during the shoot of the movie at PCA stadium, Mohali.

Sources say that it so happened that he was giving a batting shot for the movie when a ball hit him hard directly on his lower lip, even though he was wearing a helmet.

The injury left him bleeding profusely, and in no time Shahid was rushed to a private hospital nearby.

The injury is so deep that even the shoot of Jersey has been halted and no news as to when it will begin again has been given by the makers.

Sources even said that hearing about the news of Shahid Kapoor’s accident, his wife Meera Kapoor also reached Chandigarh on the same day.

While we wish Shahid Kapoor a speedy recovery, we would like to inform our readers that Jersey is a real-life story based on the life of an Indian cricketer, who despite being immensely talented, struggled a lot to make his place in the national Indian cricket team.

Another cricket based film that is going to release in 2020 is Ranveer Singh starrer 83 based on the 1983 world-cup victory story of Indian cricket team.

The film also stars Punjabi actors like Ammy Virk and Harrdy Sandhu. Punjabi actress Wamiqa Gabbi will also star in 83 and play the role of one of the cricketers’ wife.

Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, who are these days shooting for their upcoming film ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ are in Punjab. Recently Kareena Kapoor Khan’s pic dressed as a Punjabi Bride went viral on the net.

Punjabi actor and singer Ammy Virk is now all set to entertain the Punjabi cinema lovers with his next film called ‘Sufna’. While Ammy Virk will be seen as the hero in Sufna, ‘Qismat’ and ‘Guddiyan Patole’ fame Tania will play the role of his love interest in the movie. 

Releasing on Valentine’s Day this year i.e. 14th February 2020, Sufna is directed by Ammy Virk’s favorite director Jagdeep Sidhu, who is known for directing films like ‘Qismat’, ‘Shadaa’, ‘Surkhi Bindi’ among others.

Now that Sufna is ready for release on February 14, the makers have released the first look of the lead pair from the film. Ammy Virk took to his Instagram handle to share his look with Tania from the movie. The one-screen couple looks immensely in love in the picture, lost in each other’s gaze oblivious of the world around them. 

Sharing the same poster, director Jagdeep Sidhu penned down a heartfelt gratitude note to the team for their faith in his film. He captioned the same poster as:

The makers of Jora – The Second Chapter released their teaser about five days ago. Apart from receiving massive response from the public, the teaser has also received words of appreciation from Bollywood star Bobby Deol.

Getting recognition from Bollywood actors acts as a morale booster for regional movie makers and not to forget, how the fans get excited whenever they see a well-established personality from Bollywood appreciating their favorite stars. 

Five days ago, Deep Sidhu released the teaser of his much awaited film ‘Jora The Second Chapter’, which is actually the sequel of his earlier highly successful film ‘Jora 10 Numbaria’. 

While the teaser, promising double thrill and action, was loved by his ardent fans, it also received appreciation from Bobby Deol whose dad Dharmendra also features in Jora The Second Chapter. 

Commenting on Deep Sidhu’s Instagram post containing the teaser, Bobby Deol wrote, “Looking good ✨All the best ✨”

Now since Bobby Deol’s Dad is also featuring in the film, fans are wondering if he would also make a guest appearance in ‘Jora The Second Chapter’ or not. 

JORA THE SECOND CHAPTER RELEASES ON 6TH MARCH. 

Besides Deep Sidhu, Jora The Second Chapter also stars Bollywood and Punjabi actress Mahie Gill and Japji Khaira in the lead roles. Japji Khaira last year impressed the audience with her grounded performance in Gippy Grewal’s Ardaas Karaan.

As far as the director of Jora The Second Chapter is concerned, it is once again directed by Amardeep Singh Gill and produced by Loud Roar Films and Bathinde Wale Bai Films. 

We’ve already reviewed the Teaser of Jora The Second Chapter. One of the highlights of this film is going to be Singga – the famous Punjabi singer, who’ll also be playing a crucial role in the movie.
