Written and directed by Jagdeep Sidhu, ‘Qismat’ is believed to have a unique story as its backbone where a tragedy strikes a happy life that the young duo is leading. Speaking in an interview, the director of the film Jagdeep Sidhu (The man behind films like Nikka Zaildar series) said that Punjabi cinema has never really seen a complete romantic film in the recent times. Most love stories that we see on screen are rom-coms usually. But Qismat will be different!
The entire Qismat team is glad to have received the response that it’s getting on the trailer and all the amazing songs released so far. Sargun Mehta, who’s made an entry in Punjabi cinema after about a year and a half (her last film being ‘Lahoriye’ with Amrinder Gill) is all the more excited to work in this film as the talented actress has finally got a role that’ll fully showcase her acting prowess.

The duo worked hard to give us many blockbusters both as producers and distributors, giving employment to thousands of technicians, veteran actors and other artistes. However, the sad part is that instead of promoting Punjabi cinema, some minds are totally invested in destroying it through unscrupulous means, negative propaganda of films and so on.
The recent case is that of film QISMAT which is releasing on 21st September and being distributed worldwide by Whitehill Studios. Due to some minor legal issue (a case which has now been resolved amicably) – a mediahouse had been spreading negativity against both the producers as well as the distributors of Qismat, causing them undue harrassment.
However, much to the chagrin of that particular group, one of the most eagerly-awaited romantic films of Punjabi cinema – QISMAT starring Ammy Virk and Sargun Mehta in lead roles, is now RELEASING worldwide on 21st September fighting all sorts of negativity around. The film is produced under the banner of Shri Narotam Ji Production (Ankit Vijan, Navdeep Narula, Jatinder Aulukh, Shubham Goyal) and written & directed by Jagdeep Sidhu.
P.S: Although Whitehill Studios is actually distributing the film, but due to Producer’s commitment to OMJEE Group earlier, the name of distributors in the credits of the film remains of OMJEE Group only.

Telling a tale of the importance that ‘Patwaris’ (the lowest state functionary in the Revenue Collection system) in Punjab enjoy, AFSAR highlights the ‘larger-than-life’ influence that these Patwaris have in the villages often resulting in them demanding bribes and changing land records at will. Due to low levels of literacy, innocent villagers often think that they are even higher in ranks than Kanungos! Kanungos are ACTUALLY Officers whose job is to “supervise” the conduct and the work of patwaris in their charge, and it is their duty to report the bad work or misconduct on the part of patwari.
Coming back to the trailer of AFSAR, it is well cut-out and establishes the basic theme of the film really well without revealing the entire story. Tarsem Jassar’s good looks are sure to wow the audience, and his sensible expressions are a delight to watch. Nimrat Khaira’s innocence is surely appealing. She looks elegant in the ethnic Punjabi outfits.
Karamjit Anmol is another eye-catcher along with Rana Jung Bahadar who appears to be playing an extremely comical role in the film. The way the serious issue such as this is seemingly handled with light-heartedness, is something that makes the entire trailer interesting as well as entertaining.
Well, as said earlier, the curiosity levels have surely risen up after watching the trailer and we hope the movie shall successfully quench our desire to watch an entertaining yet story-driven film.

An Omjee Group, Pitaara Talkies and Speed Records’ project, the film’s leading lady is going to be Wamiqa Gabbi. Gabbi has also got a film called, Parahuna with Kulwinder Billa, which is releasing on 28th of this month.
The film is co-directed by Uday Pratap Singh. Dil Diyaan Gallan will get released somewhere in 2019.

While he’s already done three Punjabi movies this year, one of them being an all-time hit Carry On Jatta 2, the desi rockstar is now readying himself for a couple of songs, Manje Bistre 2 and of course, that flick with Sargun Mehta, which everyone’s eager to know more about.
While we broke the newsto you a couple of weeks back that in the last week of September Gippy Grewal and Sargun Mehta will begin the shoot of their first film together – Chandigarh Ambarsar Chandigarh – in the holy city of Amritsar, we’ve got more details about the same now.
Chandigarh Ambarsar Chandigarh will be helmed by Karan Gulani who earlier directed Punjabi movie, Sarvann starring Amrinder Gill and Simi Chahal. It is produced by Sumit Dutt, a popular name in Bollywood behind films like Bodyguard, Jai Ho and more. The film is said to be a love story and shall be released somewhere in June next year. So, on one hand, we shall see Gippy and Simi Chahal pairing up for the first time in Manje Bistre 2 (Releasing on April 12, 2019), on the other, the actor will share the screen with Sargun in Chandigarh Ambarsar Chandigarh next June.
