In a recent press conference held in Mumbai, actress Sayani Gupta expressed her excitement about her debut Punjabi film, Mittran Da Chaleya Truck Ni opposite none other than Amrinder Gill. She described the film as a beautiful amalgamation of Punjabi and Bengali cultures, highlighting the respect and commonalities between the two.
“The director and producer have shown full respect to both cultures, which have a lot in common,” Gupta stated. She also mentioned that the film will show a beautiful love story between a Bengali girl and a Punjabi boy. She revealed that she had a lot of fun doing a Punjabi movie and Punjabi are as lovely as their food.
Sayani also called Amrinder Gill a great actor and a beautiful person inside-out.
She further mentioned that the film’s release on October 11th, coinciding with Durga Ashtami, a significant festival in Bengal, is a huge blessing for her.
Director Rajesh Dhawan who was also present at the conference added, “The film will also feature a Bengali song, a first in Punjabi cinema.” He emphasized the unique cultural blend that the movie represents.
Producer Karaj Gill, known for his efforts in bringing diverse cultures together, was praised by Dhawan. “Karaj Gill is the only one in Punjab who is known for bringing cultures together. He was the first to feature a Punjabi-Haryanvi love story in Vekh Barataan Chaliyan and continues to innovate,” said Dhawan who’s also written the film.
Mittran Da Chaleya Truck Ni promises to be a groundbreaking film, celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of Punjab and Bengal. Along with Amrinder Gill and Sayani Gupta, the film also stars popular Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma, Hardeep Gill, Bengali actor Vishwanath Chatterjee and Sayaji Shinde from South.
The film releases on 11th October. It has been produced by Karaj Gill and Darshan Sharma from Gillz Entertainment and Sea To Sky Productions. It has been written and directed by Rakesh Dhawan.
