According to a common man’s observation, the actors are not only famous people but also make dollops of money. That’s true though, in case of superstars. However, not many know that some of these stars have another side too, a philanthropic one! One of such ‘stars’ is in our very own “Ballewood” and he is nobody else but the hot super singer and actor – Gippy Grewal!
And the strangest part is that Gippy has constantly stayed away from the limelight for performing innumerable charitable works. Never on his Facebook page, he mentioned about his charity initiatives; in fact, it’s only from some very special sources that Ballewood.in has come to know about the “other side” of this superstar!
Gippy Grewal is associated with a Trust called “Bhai Ghanaiya Sewa Mission CharitableTrust” for more than two years. According to people known to him, the actor envisions a ‘world without discrimination’ and that’s why he supports this trust in whatever way he can.
Based in ‘Pohlo Majra’ village in Punjab, Bhai Ghanaiya Trust is active in the promotion and encouragement of education for orphans, handicapped, poor, heath awareness, marriage of poor girls, anti-drug addiction campaigns, anti dowry movements, serving ‘Guru ka Langar’ etc.

“We recently organized a Langar in PGI, Chandigarh to provide food to the poor and helpless attendants of the patients admitted in the hospitals. These people have come from far off places with nowhere to live and eat. Along with the support of Gippy Bai ji, we organized this Langar, in the start of this month,” says, Gurpreet Singh ‘Gopi’ Sarpanch (Sarpanch of Pohlo Majra).
He further added – “Unknown to many, Gippy bai ji has been generously contributing to our trust for the last few years. And it’s not just the contribution in the form of ‘money’ I am talking about. It’s his ‘actual presence’ in these activities and the time he devotes in for them is what makes all the difference.”
Gippy Grewal also performs without charging any money, at the annual fest (Mela) held in Pohlo Majra and entertains the poor audience that gathers there from even far off places. This fest also holds a domestic Kabaddi Cup. “Gippy ji also brings along with him, some of his fellow singers who all entertain the people completely free of cost”, says Gopi Sarpanch.
“Gippy Bai ji has supported us not only financially, but has also made a lot of people join our trust. We could not be anything without his help and support,” he adds.

Gippy Grewal, in one of the interviews to Ballewood.in, once told us that he has risen from very difficult circumstances to reach where he is today. “I’ve lived abroad and there I’ve run taxis, worked as a chef, security guard, cleaner and done many more things. I’ve been grateful to God always for giving me the ability to stay happy in whichever circumstances I am in, without complaining,” said Gippy, in one of his earlier interviews to Ballewood.in. Perhaps, that’s the reason why he is so actively involved in serving the needy. “I really hope that with my little efforts the world becomes a better, safer, and healthier place to live for all some day,” says Gippy Grewal.
“Now, by the suggestion given by Gippy Bai ji, we are even thinking of visiting an orphanage once in a monthand spend time with little children over there. We plan to contribute financially as well as entertain them with some activities,” informs Gopi Sarpanch.
So, we can now say that though Gippy Grewal has made a name for himself on the big screen, but some of his best work occurs off-screen, where he lends support to charities, and causes around Punjab.
All the Gippy fans, now don’t just copy the superstar’s awesome dressing sense and cool hairstyles, but also get inspired from his kind heart and the great work he’s doing for the welfare of our society!
