With a view to pay an ode to the excellence of the artists in the Ballewood music and film industry, Royal Stag Radio Mirchi Music Award ceremony took place on 16th December 2016, at Multipurpose stadium in Mohali. A majestic celebration of Punjabi music talent, the ceremony was a mix of some enthralling performances and a few oops moments as well!
Extensively based on the symphonies of Punjabi music, the evening geared up with star performances by Diljit Dosanjh, Badshah, Nimrat Khaira, Guru Randhawa, Malkit Singh, Mankirat Aulakh, Kaur B and a few more artists.
While Badshah enthralled the audience with his pep numbers, audience was thrilled with Nimrat Khaira’s entry too!
But when Diljit Dosanjh took forth a lion entry for his jaw-dropping performance, the audience coudn’t remain seated for long and almost jumped through the barricades to reach out to the singer performing splendidly on stage. And our hawk eyes even noticed some of the artistes moving out of the event! Is it a gesture of jealousy?
We don’t mind someobody leaving the event, however what didn’t sit too well with us is the fact that these ‘big stars’ could move after Diljit’s performance too or was it done intentionally to waver the audience’s attention?
Soon the crowd, which was earlier moving towards the stage, was diverted towards the stars walking by, resulting in total distraction for the seated audience as well as Diljit Dosanjh, presumably! Maybe that’s the reason why Diljit almost wrapped up his performance in a few moments and didn’t come back again on stage even after he was called! However, despite everything, Diljit was the life of the event.
This entire episode speaks volumes about the lack of ‘unity’ in our Punjabi entertainment fraternity, and the inability to tolerate someone’s success! As Diljit Dosanjh is roaring high in Bollywood with his immaculate talent, skills, unwavering focus and extreme hardwork, and getting a chance to represent Punjab among the biggies of Indian film industry, it cannot be denied that there will always be some people to pull his leg down.
But isn’t this something that every achiever in the world goes through at some point in his life? And isn’t it silly for some people to assume that tearing someone else will somehow build their hollow egos up?
It’s really admirable though that our Lion-hearted Diljit Dosanjh didn’t react at all. Probably, he had sensed this months ago, even before the release of his first Hindi film, Udta Punjab that this is how life works when you take that next step in life, as is evident in his Tweet on 26th May below:
Jadon v Tusi Apni Life Ch Next Step Lene an Baut Loki Tuanu Piche Khichan Di Try Karde aa😊Par Oh NI Jaan De Ke Daah Sanu 36 Aunde Ne😜😎
