Punjabi cinema has been witnessing an upward trajectory with some really out of the box movies and Vekh Baraatan Challiyan stands testament to the same.
With the perfect blend of comedy, thrill and entertainment, the movie is produced by Rhythm Boyz Entertainment and J Studio (Karaj Gill, Jaspal Singh Sandhu and Amiek Virk) and speaks of overcoming the orthodox inter-caste beliefs.
The movie stars Binnu Dhillon, Kavita Kaushik, Ranjit Bawa, Jaswinder Bhalla, Govind Namdev, Mukesh Bhatt, Parminder Gill and Karamjit Anmol in lead roles. The heartthrob of Punjabi cinema, Amrinder Gill is going to give a special appearance and the best part is that he is going to be seen speaking in pure Haryanvi dialect that will certainly incarnate an all new persona of this charming singer and actor.
Directed by Ksshitij Chaudhary and written by Naresh Kathooria (the duo were behind films like Mr. and Mrs. 420 and Jatts in Golmaal), The film highlights the conflict between religious beliefs and young couples’ who encounter the dilemma in which the boy has to marry a dog.
Actress Kavita Kaushik who recently married Ronit Biswas in real life, will be seen playing the role of Sarla, a Haryanvi teacher who falls in love with Jaggi. “Vekh Baraatan Challiyan is a movie which is really close to my heart. My father always wanted me to do a movie which depicts the rich culture and heritage of both Haryana & Punjab, and today I am very happy and proud to make his dream come true. My co-stars and the entire team of Vekh Barataan Chailiyaan was very accommodating.”, she said.
The lead character, Binnu Dhillon, said, “The film is on two different families — one from Punjab and the other from Haryana. Jatt family is from Punjab and the Jaat family is from Haryana. The film is based on few religious and traditional ethics. The main character, bus conductor, falls in love with a frequent traveller — Sarla, who is from Haryana. When both of them decide to get married, something drastic happens.”
“I feel very good to be a part of Vekh Barataan Chailiyaan. The movie is going to be the perfect amalgamation of Punjab and Haryana. It will aptly depict the customs and rituals followed in both the states, and I am sure that it will be well-received by the audience”, said Ranjit Bawa.
The movie is scheduled to release tomorrow and we are really very excited about it!
So, join us in the marriage where Jaggi ties a knot with the new face of Punjabi cinema, and let’s see if destiny has Sarla in store for him or not..
