According to reports, the season’s first major Bollywood awards, Star Screen Awards, have been concluded on Sunday and we are not too happy with the way the jury has made its decision this time!
It was really speculated that in the Newcomers’ category, Punjab’s actor Diljit Dosanjh, who gave a stupendous performance in Udta Punjab earlier this year, was a strong contender and deserved to win all the debut actors awards this year. His performance as Inspector Sartaj was not just appreciated by the public but was also lauded by the critics alike.
However, shockingly, the award went to Jim Sarbh from ‘Neerja’ and Harshwardhan Kapoor (Anil Kapoor’s son) for Mirzya, a film that was a box-office flop. While Jim Sarbh is understandable, we really can’t deal with the fact that just because you’re a star actor’s son, you’d get your way easily with anything!
It’s really sad that Diljit couldn’t win against the politics prevailing in the Hindi film industry and we feel it’s not justified at all! Perhaps Diljit already knew the results in advance and maybe that’s why neither was he seen asking for votes from his fans much nor did he attend the Award ceremony.
Iampunjaabi.com wishes the super-talented superstar of Punjab a lot of luck ahead. May his talent gets all the recognition ahead in not just Bollywood but the world-over as well!
