As staunch lovers and admirers of the Ballewood industry, by now, we have definitely set our own definition of the characters played by the likes of Binnu Dhillon, Jaswinder Bhalla, Karamjit Anmol and B.N. Sharma, when it comes to films with comedy as its theme.
However, shunning the conventional notions, the upcoming Indian-Punjabi comedy and fantasy film, Mar Gaye Oye Loko is all set to glam up the above-stated star cast in an all new avtar! Yes the producer/writer of the movie, Gippy Grewal, says that in Mar Gaye Oye Loko, we’ll get our favorite actors in completely different looks and roles!
The film talking about “life (of Punjabis) after death” is going to be the first-of-its-kind in Punjabi cinema due to release on 31st August. Talking about its starcast, says Gippy, (who himself plays Titu in the film): “Every character has a unique role to play in the movie especially that of Binnu Dhillon. This time you’ll see Binnu displaying so many shades in a single film. Even Bhalla ji, Karamjit Bhaji and Ghuggi will be far different from their usual sides. I am so glad to have written something for them that they have truly enjoyed playing on screen.”

He further adds, “I think the way Binnu has enacted in the movie is absolutely incredible. While writing the storyline of the movie, I was really skeptical if we could actually portray what I wanted to express and needless to say, Binnu worked so hard to fit the role in a righteous manner. No one in the industry could have done justice to the role, but him.”
According to Gippy Mar Gaye Oye Loko is a complete story-driven film. “The movie portrays myriad hues of different themes. In the starting it is one genre, and ten minutes later, it is entirely different. Mar Gaye Oye Loko is a complete film, which will definitely keep the audiences hooked till the end and will simultaneously tickle the funny bone,” added Gippy. “It is not a horror film though,” he clarified.
Interestingly, it is learned that Sapna Pabbi, who’s making her Punjabi film debut with Mar Gaye Oye Loko, is playing a very meaningful role in the film and not just included to rake up the glam quotient. Directed by Simerjit Singh, Mar Gaye Oye Loko is produced under the banner of Humble Motion Pictures.
