Great news for all the Amrinder Gill’s fans out there! It’s indeed a great honour that one of the most talented actors of Punjab, Amrinder Gill, has been invited in a film festival in Melbourne, Australia to represent Punjab!
A Victorian Government initiative in Australia, this festival is called the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IIFM) aims to strengthen ties between the Indian film industry and Victoria. Besides the best stars from Bollywood like Ranveer Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Fawad Khan, Anurag Kashyap and a lot more, here from our very own Punjab, we’ll be having Amrinder Gill to represent our state there in the “Beyond Bollywood” category of films.
Amrinder Gill today posted about his arrival at Melbourne on Facebook:
The best part is that only two Punjabi films will be showcased in this festival. One of them is Angrej and the other one is Chauthi Koot – 4th Direction, directed by Gurvinder Singh, best known for ‘Anhe Ghore Da Daan’ (2012).
The festival is going to take place from 11th – 21st August. On 12th August, the awards event will take place wherein a jury consisting both Indian and Australian film & TV personalities, will be conferring awards in different categories.
On 13th August, Indian Independence Day will also be celebrated at Melboune’s Federation Square in Australia.
Here are some other Punjabi actors who have reached Melbourne to be a part of another film festival called VIRASAT Film Festival:
