Releasing on 25th August, 25 Kille, a Punjabi film will bring two legends of Punjabi cinema, Guggu Gill and Yograj Singh, face-to-face after 16 years.
Those who have been following Punjabi cinema since 80s would be aware of the fact that the two were among the most recognisable and dependable faces of Punjabi cinema in the 80s and the 90s. Their roles were usually that of protagonist and antagonist — Guggu used to be a hero and Yograj a villain.
However the duo didn’t work together for good 16 years and the industry, media and even the public speculated that the reason the two great actors haven’t been working together was because of an alleged ‘cold war’ between the two and that they are not in speaking terms.
But Yograj Singh cleared the air in a recent press conference ahead of 25 Kille. The legendary actor reporetedly said, “I love Guggu Gill more than a brother but in the last few years, there was no script that could justify mine and Guggu’s jodi on screen well. Though there was an attempt made with a film called ‘Love You Bobby’ but it wasn’t successful.”
Yograj also said that he is extremely happy with the script of 25 Kille that would fully justify Guggu and his presence in the movie. Guggu Gill also hugged Yograj Singh and said that it was a great fun coming on the sets again with Yograj Singh.”
25 kille, scheduled to release on August 25, has in the lead Ranjha Vikram Singh, Lakha Lakhwinder Singh, Sardar Sohi and Sonia Mann in prime roles, apart from Yograj and Guggu. Vikram, who is also one of the three producers, has done movies in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, including Manadhil Maayam Seidhai and Heropanti.
