Our title illustrates the present situation of our Punjabi cinema audience who is just fighting on social media to prove which one of the two Punjabi movies (that got released on the same day last week – Ardaas and Love Punjab) is better than the other.
Abuses on artiste’s pages, unhealthy debates, and what not, we saw it all in the last week, both before and after the release.
But, dear audience, wait a second! We understand that you are loyal and ardent fans of your favourite artistes who you worship like crazy but in this mad race to pull each other down, did you realize that the last Friday was the best ever day for the Punjabi film industry as a whole – in terms of not just business, but also – good quality of cinema in general?
From flawless storylines, performances, direction and overall packaging, both Ardaas and Love Punjab stand out in their own unique ways. Yes, it would’ve been really better had the two films got released on different dates, but if it has happened, we should accept it gracefully!
But, no, we are Punjabis and the more we fight, the more powerful we feel, isn’t it? So, let’s keep fighting. Let’s compare the quality and success of the two films on the basis of their box office collections, and miss out on this lovely time. It’s not uncommon to see two big Bollywood movies releasing on the same day. We open our pockets for them too, but for Punjabi films, no we can’t do it. We’ll watch our favorite hero’s movie thrice on the same weekend but we won’t watch the other one’s. Why? Coz we want to teach their fans a good lesson. We want to teach that artiste a lesson that he’s less superior than our favorite! Right?
Although ‘Ardaas’ has got more rating on our website than Love Punjab, still we have requested everyone to watch Love Punjab too, and we are happy and sad both, because people just behave like India and Pakistan.
We are tired of reading abusive messages in our Facebook Page Inbox, we have deleted so many posts and stayed silent in expressing our complete appreciation for a particular film just because we don’t want to hurt fans. But let me tell you one thing guys that our cinema is now growing. So you guys also grow up now! Thumbs up for Ardaas and Love Punjab and watch both the movies.
Buraaaaahh..!!!
