1. Diljit Dosanjh –
Penetrating from the interiors of village Dosanjh kalan, Jalandhar the actor has had his journey from rock-bottom to the uphill. He has proved his worth not only in the Punjabi industry, but has also made his fans proud by his jaw-dropping entrance into the Bollywood. His contribution of euphonious melodies to the industry, proves that he is a bliss.
2. Gippy Grewal –
The 34 years old actor, singer and producer Mr. Rupinder Singh Grewal famously known as Gippy Grewal is a true rock star who makes his own desi entity in the industry, which can’t keep people away from loving him. Ambulating from Koom Kalan, Ludhiana he has never been apart from the roots of Punjab. His childhood picture speaks of innocence, which has been his immortal trait even now.
3.Neeru Bajwa –
You were waiting for her name, weren’t you? This Canadian born Punjabi actress, has been fond of glamour ever since childhood. She admits in her documentary film Bollywood Bound, that being a high school drop-out she had least interest in studies which ultimately got her landing at Mumbai to turn her passion into profession.
4. Jimmy Sheirgill –
The prominent actor and film producer, Jimmy Shergill took birth in a Sikh family in Deokahia village, Sardarnagar, Gorakhpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Fun fact, he changed the spelling of his surname to Sheirgill because the name Jimmy Shergill was already used on social media.
5. Harbhajan Mann –
A prominent face of the Punjabi industry, Harbhajan Mann is one of the most loved Punjabi singer, actor and film producer. He was born on 30, December 1965 in village Khemuana, Bathinda. He took the first step towards his profession as an amateur in 1980, for South Asian community while juggling his higher education in Canada. His recording of Chithiye Nee Chithiye turned out to be a super-hit, just like his movie Jee Aya Nu.
6. Gurpreet Ghuggi
When it comes to defining comedy, Gurpreet Ghuggi is one of my favorites. The famous actor and stand-up comedian, was born in Khokhar Fojian, Gurdaspur, Punjab.
7 Binnu Dhillon
Another amazing comedian from the roots of Dhuri, Punjab. Binnu Dhillon is one of the best comedian in the industry, who is well-known for his hilarious dialogue delivery. His skills have been clearly evident in his movies like Jihne Mera Dil Luteya and Carry on Jatta. It would not be wrong to say that, when it comes to comedy genre Binnu Dhillon is the first one to strike the director’s mind.
8. Jaswinder Bhalla –
One of the renowned faces of Punjabi industry, Jaswinder Bhalla has extended his wit and comedy to the stage and the industry in an innovative manner. He has been one of the most appreciated and famous Punjabi comedians. To add to your knowledge, this artist holds a PhD. in agricultural science from Punjab Agricultural University, and belongs to Doraha, Dt. Ludhiana.
9. Rana Ranbir –
We all love the very cute Shampy, don’t we? The leading actor, stand-up comedian, RJ and TV host of Punjabi cinema, Rana Ranbir was born in Dhuri, Punjab. 10. B.N. Sharma –
Born and raised in Delhi, we know B.N. Sharma since the days of Jaspal Bhatti’s ‘Flop Show’. Do you know he served as a constable in Punjab Police department for around 25 years along with pursuing a career in acting? Today B.N. Sharma is indespensable to Punjabi cinema. Be it Carry on Jatta or Jatt & Juliet or JIhne Mera Dil Luteya, he is behind most of the blockbusters that our industry has seen.
