A 400-metre athlete’s national-champion dream turns into a fight for survival after he is accused of murder. 

That’s the premise of Hardeep Grewal’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Daudaak’, which is scheduled to hit theatres on October 23, 2026.

Directed by Garry Khatrao, the film features Grewal in the lead and is written by him.

Unlike a conventional sports drama, ‘Daudaak’ combines athletics with a murder mystery. The official synopsis promises a story involving secrets, motives and revelations surrounding the murder, making the thriller element an important part of the narrative.

The film’s promotions have now picked up pace ahead of its theatrical release. Its official teaser, released recently, has further introduced audiences to the world of the film and its central conflict. While its trailer is releasing on 10th Oct in Canada. 

With Hardeep Grewal leading the cast, writing the story and taking on the central character, ‘Daudaak’ brings together two distinct themes, sporting ambition and a fight for justice.

The film also stars Malkeet Rauni and Mintu Kappa and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on October 23.

Punjabi film ‘Eh Din Roz Ni Aune’ is set to release worldwide on October 9, 2026. The film is written and directed by Aneet Sekhon and features Harbhajan Mann, Avkash Mann, Heer Achhra and Nirmal Rishi among its principal cast.

The film also marks the acting debut of Avkash Mann.

The story brings together two very different characters, 25-year-old Prabh and 55-year-old businessman Aavraj, whose chance encounter develops into an unexpected friendship.The makers have described the film as a story about connection, second chances and relationships that develop across generations. Neeru Bajwa and Sunny Singh starrer ‘Thaapi’ is set to bring a sports-based story around kabaddi to Punjabi cinema. The film, written and directed by Jagdeep Warring and produced by Amanpreet Singh from Smarters Films, is scheduled to release worldwide on October 16, 2026.

Recently Thaapi’s trailer was released on a grand scale in Chandigarh. It gives a clearer glimpse into the world of the film, which revolves around a group of women who come together to form a kabaddi team while challenging traditional thinking and expectations.

Tutt Paini English Ne Team Visits Wagah Border Ahead of September 25 Release

Amritsar: The team of upcoming Punjabi film Tutt Paini English Ne visited the Wagah Border ahead of the film’s release on September 25. The cast and crew attended the Beating Retreat ceremony and interacted with Border Security Force personnel during their visit.

The film is directed by Varinder Sharma and written by Jass Grewal. It stars Simi Chahal, Mandy Takhar and Satvinder Singh in the lead roles.

Tutt Paini English Ne is a Punjabi comedy-drama centred on family relationships, social expectations and the importance attached to speaking English. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 25, 2026.

Punjabi cinema fans are in for a powerful cinematic experience as the first official motion poster for the upcoming film Thaapi has finally been unveiled. Adorned with earthy tones and strong voice overs, the poster perfectly captures a raw narrative of relentless struggle and resilience of women.

Law Alumni Golf Championship-2026 Brings Legal Fraternity Together Beyond the Courtroom

Chandigarh, September 5, 2026: The Legal Fairways Foundation, in association with DLF organised the inaugural Law Alumni Golf Championship (LAGC) 2026 – India’s first inter-law school alumni golf championship at Chandigarh Golf Club(CGC). The championship brought together lawyers, judges, corporate counsel and legal professionals from leading law schools and universities across the country at the prestigious CGC on Saturday. As many as 18 leading law schools and universities participated in the inaugural edition.

The one-day championship was played in the Double Peoria Net format. Teams from Delhi dominated the day. In the team category Campus Law Centre (CLC) DU’s Team 2 comprising Ankush Das, Inderbir Singh Alag, Ravi Nanda, & Mrinal Bharti were declared winners. CLC DU’s Team 1 comprising J P Sengh, Sudhanshu Batra, Harkirat Sawhney and Sitesh Mukherjee were 1st Runners-Up while the 2nd Runners-Up position was taken by National Law University(NLU), Delhi, comprising Dhruv Gupta, Keerat Dhillon, Akal Brar & Precious Kelson.

Speaking on the occasion, Amardeep Singh Sukhija, President, The Legal Fairways Foundation, said: “The championship was conceived as a unique platform to foster sportsmanship, camaraderie and lifelong professional relationships among members of the legal fraternity beyond the courtroom.”

In the Lawyers’ Individual Category (Gross) – Arjun Singh Rai (UILS, Chandigarh Team 1) with a Gross of 75 was adjudged winner on the best Back 9 score of 36; Jaiveer Sandhu (UILS Chandigarh Team 1) also with 75 was declared 1st Runner-Up (Back 9 score of 40) and Karmanbir Singh Kharbanda (OP Jindal) with a gross score of 78 clinched the 2nd Runner-Up position.

In Lawyers’ Individual Category(Net) – Vidushpat Singhania- GLC Bombay (65) was the winner; Nishant Prasad – NALSAR (66) the 1st Runner-Up and Akal Brar –NLU Delhi (67) the 2nd Runner-Up.

In lawyers’ category the Longest Drive went to Ramandeep Singh, Straightest Drive title was bagged by Shitesh Mukherjee and Nearest to Pin went to Jaiveer Sandhu.

Himachal’s most trusted jewellery brand, Verma Jewellers, wins its 15th National Award

Solan, September 5, 2026: Verma Jewellers won its fifteenth national award in Mumbai. At the Retail Jeweller India Awards 2026, held at the Grand Hyatt, the brand took the Groom’s Accessory of the Year title and was also nominated in the Jadau Earring category. The award was received by Mr Akshay Verma, Managing Director, who addressed a press conference in Solan along with Ms Pallavi Verma, Creative Director, to share details of the achievement with the media.

It is the fifth consecutive year that Verma Jewellers has been honoured on a national platform — an unbroken run for a brand that operates two showrooms in Himachal, in a sector led by chains many times its size.

The fifteen awards span the business rather than any single strength. National recognition began in 2022 with the National Award for Retail Promotion of the Year at the Retail Jeweller India Awards and the Coolest Ad Campaign at India’s Coolest Store Awards. The nominated jadau earring combines polki-style diamonds, rubies, emeralds and pearls. Both pieces were placed on display for the media on Friday.

SJOBA Honours St. John’s Teachers on Teachers’ Day

Chandigarh, September 5, 2026: The St. John’s Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA) organised a special Teachers’ Day celebration in Chandigarh, to honour the teachers of St. John’s High School. The event brought together teachers and alumni to express their gratitude and appreciation for the educators who have inspired, mentored and guided generations of Johnians.The event was coordinated by SJOBA Executive Member Anubhav Naresh, while P. Tutt Paini English Ne Trailer: When English Becomes A Matter Of Status

The trailer of Tutt Painī English Ne has released today and it promises a light-hearted Punjabi family comedy built around a very familiar obsession: the importance we give to speaking English.

Set against a quintessential Punjabi backdrop, the film brings together family, relationships and plenty of misunderstandings. The humour feels woven in everyday situations, while the story also takes a playful dig at the tendency to associate English with status and sophistication.

Simi Chahal looks natural and convincing in the comic situations, while Mandy Takhar brings her own lively energy. Satvinder Singh, along with supporting actors Rupinder Rupi and Gurpreet Bhangu, adds to the ensemble feel of the film. The reunion of Simi and Mandy, almost a decade after Rabb Da Radio, is an added attraction.
