Chandigarh: Based on the theme “The Art of Disagreement: Conversation Across Divides,” the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival will bring together prominent personalities from literature, journalism, politics, business, technology, culture and the arts. The festival aims to explore the power of dialogue in an increasingly polarised society and encourage the exchange of ideas.
Sharing details of the event, Festival Director Rahul Singh said the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival (KSLF) will be held in Kasauli from October 23 to 25, 2026. The festival will mark its 15th edition this year. The theme, “The Art of Disagreement: Conversation Across Divides,” encourages open dialogue, diverse viewpoints and the willingness to listen to and understand people whose opinions differ from our own.
He said that at a time when people hold differing views on several issues and divisions are growing, KSLF 2026 will provide a platform for conversation and the exchange of ideas. Discussions will cover a wide range of subjects related to literature, politics, business, technology, society, culture and the arts. The sessions will explore how listening to others can broaden our understanding, encourage us to reconsider long-held beliefs and help identify common ground despite differences of opinion.
Rahul Singh said that more than 80 distinguished speakers will participate in the 2026 edition. They include Imtiaz Ali, Sonam Wangchuk, General (Dr.) Manoj Mukund Naravane (Retd.), Sarthak Ahuja, Sandhya Mridul, Vishnu Som, Divya Dutta and Satinder Sartaaj, along with several prominent writers, journalists, thinkers and well-known public figures. The discussions will examine the differences, ideas and shared experiences shaping contemporary society.
He further said that this year’s festival sessions will be held at three different venues within the Kasauli Club: the Badminton Court, Terrace and Tennis Lawn. These venues will accommodate an extensive programme of thought-provoking discussions, meaningful conversations and cultural activities.
