The 2nd edition of the Chandigarh Music and Film Festival (CMFF) is all set to Kickstart on the 21st of April, till the 23rd of April 2022, which will be graced by renowned filmmakers and artists from the Hindi Film Industry. The festival aims to feature great cinema & at the same time provide more insights into current trends in the cinema industry.
Film enthusiasts, film lovers, students, and budding filmmakers, not only from Tricity but also from the surrounding states, like – Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, will get the chance to witness the significant participation & enthusiasm from filmmakers & industry professionals. Moreover, enthusiasts will not only get to meet their favorite filmmakers but also have a chance to interact with them. Entry to the festival is free of cost. One can visit Chandigarh University Campus, from 21-22 April between 10 am to 4 pm to meet the famous actors, directors, and producers and may watch many new, interesting films.
The second venue of the CMFF is the Municipal Bhawan, Sector-35A, Chandigarh where film screening and interaction with filmmakers will take place on the 22nd and 23rd of April from 10 am, till 9 pm. Another attraction of the Event is the Live Music Performance which will be held at Elante Mall-Chandigarh on 22nd April, 6 pm onwards.
To attend the Chandigarh Music and Film Festival, one can collect free passes to watch multiple feature films, short films, and music albums from various outlets in the city and experience memorable moments.
Sharing views, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, The Festival Director of the Dehradun International Film Festival, said he is overjoyed with the amount of love and support people have shown him in the past, and as a way of giving back to people, this film festival will inspire many talented filmmakers, budding artist as they will get to know the knowledge of the art and science of film making.
Sharing views, Mr. Santanu Ganguly, Curator of the 2nd Chandigarh Music & Film Festival, said that the discussion with noted actors and filmmakers like Imtiaz Ali Saurabh Shukla, K.C Bokadia and Akhilendra Mishra, will enrich the film lovers of Chandigarh. And another exciting experience will be to have a discussion with renowned Film-maker Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri along with noted actress Pallavi Joshi, where they will share their experience-insights of Kashmir Files and their other films. Film Screening of Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri’s 3 Films, Buddha in Traffic Jam, The Tashkent Files, and the recent film The Kashmir Files will also take place.
Sharing views, Mr. Ruchin Kohli, Director of Events of CMFF, stated that the event was not held last year due to Covid, but that now that the situation has improved and film personalities have started attending events, it was decided that the CMFF should be carried forward. We hope the people of Chandigarh will garner us the same support, they have shown in the past.
This festival is also fully supported by Chandigarh Tourism and Citco. This year’s festival will draw a large number of movie stars. Renowned Celebrities and artists will be attending the festival, including Dilip Sen (Music Director), Abhishek Dudhaiya, who directed films such as Bhuj, Preeti Sapru, Satinder Satti, noted performer Sapna Choudhary, Shahid Mallya, Gavie Chahal, Punjabi Actor Shivendra Mahal, Rana Jung Bahadur, Dev Sharma, Anjumman Mughal and many more artists have confirmed their presence for the CMFF.
