MAHENDERGARH, 07.06.23 – The publication “Geographic Information Systems in Urban Planning and Management,” authored by Dr. Manish Kumar, Mr. Akash Tiwari, and Mr. Syed Irtiza Majid from the Department of Geography at Central University of Haryana, along with Prof. R. B. Singh and Dr. Anju Singh from the University of Delhi, and Mr. Ram Pravesh from Maps my India, has been recently released by Springer Nature, Singapore. The book launch event was graced by the presence of Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, the esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana.
During the book release, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar commended the authors and stressed the book’s importance in enhancing the scientific knowledge and understanding of geospatial technologies among urban planners, researchers, scientific professionals, and students involved in various aspects of urban planning and management.
Dr. Manish Kumar presented the first copy of the book to Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, where he highlighted its comprehensive coverage and underscored the role of Geographic Information System (GIS) in addressing contemporary urban challenges. Dr. Kumar expressed his optimism that the book would provide fresh insights into the practical application of GIS in urban planning. Prof. Sanjiv Kumar (Dean Academics) and Prof. Rajiv Kaushik (Controller of Examinations) were also present at this significant event.
