Ammy Virk’s ’83 Gets Postponed Due to Coronavirus

As the world is facing grim times due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the release date of Ammy Virk’s first Bollywood movie, 83 has been postponed.

Ammy took to Instagram to announce the same. 

Ranveer Singh who is the main lead of the movie, playing the character of cricketer Kapil Dev, wrote on his instagram, “83 is not just our film but the entire nation’s film. But the health and safety of the nation always comes first. Stay safe, take care. We shall be back soon!”

83 was set to release on April 10 and is among one of the most awaited movies of 2020. The makers, however, have decided to shift the film’s release date after the novel coronavirus spread in the country.

The outbreak of Covid-19 has affected the entertainment industry worldwide. In Punjabi film industry, the cinema halls were shut just a day after the release of Amrinder Gill’s ‘Chal Mera Putt 2’ while, Rana Ranbir’s ‘Posti’ which was supposed to get released on 20th March, has also been postponed. 

The makers are yet to announce the new release date of Posti. 

In Hindi Film industry, the release dates of Sooryavanshi and Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar – were postponed.

The pandemic has also affected the box office collection of Irrfan’s Angrezi Medium and Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 3.
